The one thing that I learned during my earlier years when travel was my hobby, is that almost every place on earth has an unusual sight or story to
offer.
I grew up outside of Washington, D.C.. I never understood why everyone that came to visit wanted to go to the White House and to the surrounding
memorials. Growing up in the area and seeing them all the time, took the mystery, mystic, and excitement out of them. I am sure that many people that
live in tourist areas feel the same way about their local sites.
Being old and poor, I can't travel the way I used to, so I have learned to enjoy my staycations. I look for the beautiful and the unique locally,
within driving distance and even in my back yard. I find something interesting every time I take a stroll through the woods, and it doesn't cost me a
thing.
The pictures are beautiful and they stir a bit of the wanderlust within me, but I know my limitations. Thanks.
