I was checking out the Nellis operations page for next year's Red Flag and noticed the Fighter Weapons School (FWS) "graduation" (Mission Employment
Phase) is only a week long. It used to be this was held the first two weeks of June and the first two weeks of December.

It is listed as Advanced Integration rather than Mission Employment Phase. From a radio scanning viewpoint, this is like a mini-Red Flag. From a
photography viewpoint, there are no foreign aircraft.
Around the same period, there is the JFEX (Joint Force Entry Exercise). Now this is a lot of fun. They fly countless heavies over the Keno airstrip.
Directions to a viewing location of the airstrip and a warning on the rough road conditions are on this page:

As I've said more than once, when there is no weapons school or flag, the majority of the radio traffic is from Groom Lake.
Thermal underwear and a balaclava suggested.

Photos in the above link are from when the JFEX was called MAFEX. It was a warm November. I can't predict the upcoming December weather.
