I've been pulling back from politics due to the environment we're in. ATS is the only place I discuss it. I even stopped on my own FB page.

The last thing I need is some idiot high on political religion thinking it justified to hurt me or my family.

Than said, don't do stupid things with stupid people in stupid places.

It will keep you from getting shot.

I had to star you for consistency if for nothing else.

To be fair, I do not think the correlation implies causation in this case. He most likely got shot because of the argument.

Something like that, since it says in the link that the man who was killed said he voted for Trump and that he would be gone next week. That's what is says, that's all it says. It could be taken both ways.

More,
"Walker says the man in the white jacket in the surveillance video, who is Hispanic, tried to talk to her as she went back into the bar to retrieve her phone.
She says he then said something disrespectful.
"And Mitchell was like, 'What did he say to you?'" she said.
She says Mormon and the man began arguing. She says *Mormon jokingly told the man he voted for Donald Trump and he would be gone next week.
Walker says the argument continued, the shooter went around the corner, came back with a gun and opened fire.
*That puts that part into better perspective.

What gets me about that part of the article is it's not quoted.

Walker said she doesn’t think the Trump comment led to the incident and that the alleged shooter was looking for trouble.

They quote many other parts of her statement but not that.

Take from it what you will.

In the other thread it didn't really apply as I had continued on erroneous assumptions.

But I think it definitely applies here.

BTW.. That website has a lot of nerve, playing a COMMERCIAL before the important video. I closed it.

The argument wasn't about the election. WSB:

Walker says the man in the white jacket in the surveillance video, who is Hispanic, tried to talk to her as she went back into the bar to retrieve her phone.

She says he then said something disrespectful.

"And Mitchell was like, 'What did he say to you?'" she said.

She says Mormon and the man began arguing. She says Mormon jokingly told the man he voted for Donald Trump and he would be gone next week.

Walker says the argument continued, the shooter went around the corner, came back with a gun and opened fire.

She wants the shooter off the street.

"Please, if anybody knows anything, please, this was so senseless. This was so horrible," she said through tears.

Walker doesn't think the comment about Trump played a role in the shooting. She says the gunman was intent on causing chaos from the very beginning.

The story has ambiguity in it as given, certainly there was hate involved so what do you mean exactly from your point of view.

Addendum to that, given that the altercation was initially over the over the woman...not in the OP version BTW.

at first...i thought this behavior was silly and kind of funny.
now...i cant believe what im seeing. there is something very wrong with a lot of people.
there seems to be two types out there, the passive, fragile snowflakes that cant bear that the world is
crashing down around them. the other type is trying to bring the world crashing down around them.
how long can this last? who knows. this goes way beyond hillary losing...this is something else.

why not read before guessing and making assumptions and drawing conclusions based on your own guesses

-- i have a good feeling there is more to this and seems like pure bait for certain people to jump to conclusion.
ill wait for more on this

There's no way to fully protect yourself. This stuff creates collateral damage and you could just be a bystander or they could just indiscriminately attack people.

I say you should just live life the way you want. Don't let anyone intimidate you or scare you into silence.

I disagree with this.

You shouldn't have to be afraid for your life by simply having a different opinion.

But here we are. In fear for our lives, our families lives, simply because we don't agree politically.

Man I'm already dead. I lost everything.

This? What remains? I am here to kick butt and drink coffee.

You know what I'm afraid of? Doing nothing. Wasting my chance for redemption.

I avoid conflict. Always have. Violence comes extremely easy for me when it is warranted, that is the only thing that scares me.

Prudence is neither, but it's a good quality to display nonetheless.

The small violent contingent surely want anyone who supported Trump dead/jailed/tortured/beat. That's just bonker logic.

I hope it stays a small contingent and can't envision a peaceful country going forward with that mentality in the mix.

Sadly, I'm agreeing with you. The big question is which side flinches first.
