I'm trying a new "today's posts" page that is now under the "Todays Posts" link in the forum toolbar above.

Previous versions of this page were exceeding 200k of just HTML. This combined with being one of the more popular pages on the site is slowing some things down.

The new layout uses 100k less HTML for 18 hours of posts. It's less attractive than the old version, but it should load much faster, and get the point across. Let's try it for a while and see how it works out.

It does load a bit faster now. And that should help the members who have dial up.

So do I, but this one page is responsible for .6 gigs of bandwidth in 5 days, and is the 8th most popular page. While overall bandwidth isn't a problem, I am concerned with overall performance.

The HTML that defined the table structure makes up 60% of the HTML of the page... that's a lot of tags and no real information other than structure.

I think it looks fine.

Same as all the other changes, just something we'll get used to. In a couple of days you will forget what it even used to look like before.

At home I am forced to use dial-up...which can sometimes be a night mare, however the new layout (on todays posts) is taking between 1.86 and 1.93 seconds to load...That is the best and worse I have gotten. This is much faster than before.
