I agree.....it's more of this instigating stuff. ...I don't know if these George Soros stories are true or not. ..if they are... these paid instigators need to be made to earn their money the hard way.

Discharge paper dont mean squat in your world.

Your DD214 is official government document. In fact, your dd214 is what is asked for any veterans applying for health care, benefits, or certain jobs. Your post military id is as valid as a driver's license, a dd214 has no other equivalent.

Anyone can forge a DD 214. ID card much harder. Go try and use a DD214 to get a discount at Lowes or Home Depot. They will not accept it. You need an ID card. If all stores would require an ID card there would be much less fraud which there is a lot of it on Veterans Day. I have seen it and it's BS.

I am really beginning to think you don't have any idea and are spouting BS. I have received discounts etc, without anyone asking for proof. If you legitimately tell them you are a veteran, most businesses are happy to offer the discount. Even found that to be the case when my hair was halfway down my back, have never had anyone question my military service. Something stinks with your line of reasoning.

Actually, he's right. I just found out you can take your DD-214 to the Drivers License place and get "veteran" placed on your ID so you can use it to get a discount at Lowes. I am currently a frequent customer and could use that 10% so I did this.

Actually did not know this, just renewed my license, but will remember that the next time. I am sure that varies by state though.

They keep pushing it and it will happen. Someone will dot their eye.

And if they think that Soros funding won't be discovered they are dumber than they look. The only way a secret stay secret is if only one person knows it. And there is a new breed of investigators, ask Planned parenthood.

Lowes and Home Depot where I live will not accept a DD214 or even an expired ID. They are very strict. It's actually a good thing. It prevents a lot of fraud. If this guy has a service dog he likely got it from the VA meaning he should have an ID. This guy does not pass the smell test for me but I would have still served him. I might have started asking him questions about where he got that dog. I have snuffed out stolen valor before.

"IF" the guy with the Trump shirt on stirred up the trouble...he needs to be punched in the face....you don't take a meal away from someone when they are in the middle of eating it....I don't give a # if the guy was a veteran or not....that's just not something you do....period !!

Like I said something doesn't sound right.

Old white guy in a Trump shirt complaining about a black man, yep sounds pretty right to me. Unfortunately I live with that old white guy.

Discharge papers don't mean anything. Go get an ID card. I'm a retired 20 year vet and would never even try to get a benefit without the ID card. Any vet can get one. I am leaning towards the store manager as being correct but he should have ignored it. Not worth your job. I blame this on the stores. They should all ask for a current ID. End of Story.

Walker said he provided a military ID at the manager's request, along with his discharge papers.

Done.

Ok lets call BS on some of this crap. There are a lot of veterans on this site. When you left the military were you offered a veterans ID? I left 26 years ago, and somewhere I have my expired active duty ID, other than that, the only thing I have is my VA card. Can anyone fill us old guys in on this Vet ID?

I missed the part about the ID. If it's a current ID then yes. Someone needs to get fired. Not sure why anyone would carry around papers if they had a valid ID but to each their own. That's what threw me off, seeing he showed discharge papers. I apologize.

Can you please fill me in on this ID, I am a proud veteran and currently receive my health care from the VA. How do I get one of these ID's, I carried a copy of my DD214 around with me for many years.

I used to work for this company, for nearly 9 years.

This manager is an idiot.

The veteran's day free meal is from a limited menu and I can tell you the food cost is no more than $4.00 as a max for what is on that menu.

I've also dealt with service animals and the morons who complain about them.

Both the mental midget who complained and this dillweed manger need to ask themselves how they would feel in this circumstance.

I'm sure the manager has already had an uncomfortable conversation with the Area Manager for that unit.

I got out in "95 and did 6 years active, and had 2 years in-active, after that, I had to turn in my ID card and was issued a DD-214. To date, I have no needed anything more than the 214 to do anything I need to regarding service. But the Lowes thing is true, I asked at the store to be sure. My DL was expiring on my Bday in March next year, so I didn't mind getting a new one. I was Chair Force, so while still a vet, not the fighting kind. They gave me a toolbox instead of a weapon. So like the lite version.

At least one of the links does not mention the trump supporter but he was most definitely not allowed to finish his meal .

My only question is , why didnt the other vets stick up for him . Assuming others were present of course .

I got out in 90 after 7, and yeah Chairforce for me too. I was a 32470 T, yeah last 4 was as an instructor. I taught in a DOD school with Army, AF, and Marines as students and instructors. I just renewed my DL last May, need to look in to it, to see if this is the case in MO.

I actually live with my 84YO step father, Korean War vet, and I can totally see him doing something like that. He hates black people, seriously does not like dogs, no I have no problem believing this, at least on the old guy part, they have no filters. The manager on the other hand, karma needs to bite his ass hard.
