It's doesn't matter

It does matter. It matters because, it says that Trump doesn't have a mandate for, or the "peoples consent to be governed" by all of his campaign promises and proposals by a majority of the electorate. In other words, he doesn't have a blank check to do whatever he wants, like the approval that he would enjoy should he actually win the popular vote, and as of now still needs to win the trust and consent of the majority of people that didn't vote him, theoretically, through the Senate and Congress.

This is a complete farce. He is the president, repubs control the house and the Senate, not to mention almost all of the state houses and Governor mansions. I don't think they give damn weather you think they have a mandate or not.

Just the fact that you are an American citizen beholden to American law, and they won the American election under American law, you give them your "consent to be governed"

Yeah, I though something was array when a thread got so many flags stating Trump won the popular vote long before the tallies are even in.

Another lie from Trump camp? Say it ain't so!?

And here's something more to add. I've reported that lying thread to mods as hoax/trash material... but it persists-- however shortly after reporting the thread, one of my posts in the thread where I call it out as a lie was removed for being off-topic. Not sure what to make of that. Doesn't feel right.

Lies are going mainstream. The alt right is here to F*** with people's heads. American integrity is under attack.

Please don't take this the wrong way. I mean you no disrespect...but I think you should consider stepping back from this just a little.

Really...It might be in your best interest to take a short break from politics...at least for a little while.
People who voted for Trump are neither Nazis, nor evil racists...nor uneducated dolts...they are regular people just like you and me.

As for the mods...or ATS itself; there IS no conspiracy aligned against you. Truly.

Truth remains important, yes. Explaining the reason for that feels like I'm talking to a toddler who doesn't understand anything.

Some rotten rice drinking fat guy said this so take it for what its worth :
3 things cant be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.

Oh but it does matter, people should know who won the popular vote right?

I see Trump fans so upset that things are just not going that smoothly for them.....get used to it.

Trump may have won the electoral college, but he and his alt-right minion are very much at odds with most Americans who value diversity, equality for all, and good will. And he lost the popular vote... So my suggestion...

Trump act like a man and a mature unifying leader for once in his life, and start trying to bring his people
together.

If he's not up to trying, then he's not up to being President.

He is trying.

The rioters in the streets will not listen because they are ideological extremists furled by hatred and the endless funds of the terrorist agitator George Soros.

There is in fact a mandate.

The majority of American voters (53%) did not vote for Hillary.

Exactly. She did not win the popular vote. Only 47% voted for her. To win he popular we would need a runoff system and we don't have one.

Most Americans rejected Hilary.

Most American voted to take power back from the establishmnet, not for Hillary

Most Americans voted for real change, not for Hillary.

Hillary won the popular vote over Obama in 2008 by a larger margin.

Do you reject Obama's vixtory and presidency or are you a huge hypocrite?

I keep seeing this claim of 3 million illegals voting and all I'm able to come up with is that according to Greg Phillips of the VoteFraud.org organization it's true. Okay, so how is Greg a valid source? How exactly did he determine this?

The US is a Republic. We elect out President through the Electoral College. Hillary and her campaign knew this when the campaign started. You can not change the rules after the game is over just because you lost. If they truly thought it was unfair they should have been working to change the rules long before this election season started.

You completely misunderstand. Pres Elect Trump has to get both houses to approve his campaign promises in order for them to become reality. If lawmakers' districts are strongly against this or that, then Trump will have a harder time ram rodding "this or that" through the houses, than if he had the majority of the electorate, which right now he doesn't.

Lawmakers will have to decide whether to go with "this or that" or face the consequences from their own electorate.
