No, it is not a lobbying "ban" but more of a pledge. We need to see this "form" they will sign, to see exactly how these weasels will find their way around it. Question them!! Remember Reagan, "trust but verify". So far it is a piece of paper and not any Executive Order.

Oh, they could say, "I'm not a lobbyist. Here, let me help you as a consultant or as an advisor."

Considering he wants to abolish all forms of taxation, I'm not sure how it would have been paid for though...

Darned good question, huh. First, let me backtrack a little. There is something that has been around decades, actually since Reagan years. It is called "starve the beast". It was thought that govt spending could be controlled over liberal objections by collecting less in taxes; it also could do away with those programs that conservatives didn't like in govt, those things that helped out "minorities", like "welfare", etc. Hence all those appeals to the average (white) guy that govt would help him by ''letting him keep his money'' by "cutting taxes".

But go further to the fringe right, to those who want to break federal govt entirely. Koch ideology wants to, in the words of Grover Norquist, make govt small enough to drown it in the bathtub. So, keep cutting taxes!!

How does one pay for what's left after govt is stripped bare? No IRS to collect taxes. No joke, here it is....

A lottery... yes.... hahahaha
Consumption tax....hitting the 99% harder
Voluntary... yeah right! Such bleeding spleen idealists!!
User fees.... taxes on the 99%
Insurance groups.... pay to play
Sell land.... hell, yeah, sell the land to the Bundy family... or more likely to "resource extraction industries"

GW Bush was the ultimate in cutting taxes... he wasn't like the further-to-the-right who became an opposition party to Obama.... but he started trillion dollar wars, put them on credit cards, and cut taxes.... to his credit, he was stupid enough, not ideological, to believe that war stimulated an economy, so he told Pres Kirchener of Argentina..... he really did.... what the hell will Trump tell foreign leaders, in OUR name, when he talks with them!!!

So, when someone whispers in your ear, "psst, hey, Buddy, I can cut your taxes!", he's probably just wants to sell you insurance... or a lottery ticket/

Well, I guess the Pres-Elect Trumpapple isn't going to fall far from the Nominee Trumpapple tree.

The Tweeter-In-Chief-To-Be tweeted today that

"I worked hard with Bill Ford to keep the Lincoln plant in Kentucky. I owed it to the great State of Kentucky for their confidence in me!"

The problem is .... Ford was NEVER moving the Kentucky plant to Mexico! Trumpapple had NOTHING to do with it!

The Lies Begin As Trump Takes Credit For Keeping Ford Plant In The US That Wasn’t Leaving

The problem with Trump’s claim is that the Ford plant wasn’t going to leave. Ford was shifting production from Michigan to Mexico to make room for the Michigan plant to make two new products. The plant was always staying. No jobs were going to be lost.

Reuters quoted CEO Mark Fields as saying, “We’re going forward with our plan to move production of the Ford Focus to Mexico, and importantly that’s to make room for two very important products we’ll be putting back into Michigan plants. There will be no job impact whatsoever with this move.”

Fortune reported that the Kentucky plant, like the Michigan plant, wasn’t going anywhere, ““We already have the plants and investment in other parts of the world. It frees us up to make further investments in the U.S.,” Fields said, pointing to the money invested to launch a new SuperDuty pickup at a plant in Kentucky.”

Oy vay! My POTUS is a psycho! Agghhhh

Yep. And now America is about to bear the brunt of this "gathering storm". I know you clearly see this cult of Trump for what it is.

lol Trump's delusions are obvious with this tweet. It reminds me of decades ago, when a neighbor psychologist told me about one of his clients. He said that the client told him that he could make clouds move. When he was told, "No, you cannot make clouds move," the man said, "Yes, I can. Look." The man took his finger, pointed it at a cloud, and, by golly, the cloud was moving! lol

Ok, I want to post the other part of the Koch ideology that has taken over the Republican Party. I referred already to the Koch economic ideology, but the other part is their conspiratorial ideology. I am very familiar with people who subscribe to this ideology, as I have had friends decades ago and currently have family members who hold meetings in their homes.

The Koch Bros father helped fund the beginnings of the John Birch Society in the 1950s. For those unfamiliar with this fringe right wing ideology, the JBS advocates against Socialism and is for limited govvernment. Their once fringe conspiracies (thought to have died out years ago) are now mainstream, as evidenced by the multitude of postings at this website.

Alex Jones is big time into spreading the JBS propaganda (infowars, prisonplanet). One of the most influential books from his teenage years was None Dare Call It Conspiracy, a book by John Birch PR representative Gary Allen, that Jones still cites as "the quintessential primer to understand the New World Order."

Hate or Be Hated: How I Survived right-wing extremism

The John Birch Society nearly changed the face of America during the 1964 Republican presidential race with their abominable brand of anti-semantic, racist, sexist and anti-government rage. Over a half a century later, the Birchers are back and stronger than ever thanks to the efforts of the Koch Brothers, the Tea Party, the rise of Alt-Right and of course, the shocking nomination of Donald Trump as the Republican candidate for President.

The Tea Party, the John Birch Society, and the Fear of “Mob Rule”: An Interview with Claire Conner

It comes from a very different view of what government is—and what government should or could be. The John Birch Society came from the principle that the federal government is essentially evil. That’s extremely difficult for liberals to grasp. But it was exactly where they were coming from. They believe the government is essentially evil and should either be privatized or completely done away with.

Like His Dad, Charles Koch Was a Bircher
a good historical read

He funded the John Birch Society's promotional campaigns, bought advertising in its magazine, and supported its distribution of right-wing radio shows.

Oh, I do.

Trump's gonna focus on what matters to him (money & Trump), expecting everyone else to pick up the pieces.

The "everyone else" is a "Horror Show".

The cracks/weaknesses of who Trump really is will begin to emerge. I'm sure they'll try to keep it internal.

I almost joined the John Birch Society when I was younger.

I was very Christian Right when I was younger.

I know how they think. It's all about control.

But, I've always had a natural independent streak. I've always followed my own path. Even those I had to wake up from and move on.

Oh, Annee, thank you so much for sharing this. Indeed, you have that ''natural independent streak" that kept you from allowing control over you. I think that people viewed Donald Trump as someone who was naturally beyond anyone's control, that he was his own self-made man. He exuded hyper-masculinity at his rallies, fooling others into thinking he was the leader they were looking for.

As it is turning out, once it is seen that the Emperor has no clothes, it appears that Trump himself does not have that "natural independent streak" that you have. He wants, he needs, to appear beyond other's control, because he himself is vulnerable to other's control.

Jones’s guest on his show the morning of the shooting had been, as chance would have it, Donald Trump. Jones had praised Trump, claiming that ninety per cent of his listeners were Trump supporters, and Trump had returned the favor, saying, “Your reputation is amazing. I will not let you down.”

source

He flatters Alex Jones, one con man to another. “Your reputation is amazing. I will not let you down.” That is frightening.

In a Youtube video titled “Donald Trump thanks InfoWars for the win,” Jones relayed a message to his loyal, alt-right viewers.

“Donald Trump again wanted me to thank all of you, just as he has done on the broadcast when he joined us, but again today, we just talked to him, took time out talking to world leaders,” Jones began his rant. “He’s not calling other media. He’s not meeting with other media. He’s not talking to the media. He wanted to directly talk to you and thank you.”

source

The gullibility of Trump and Alex is only eclipsed by the gullibility of their true believers.

"His followers don’t fact-check anything — they’ll post everything, believe anything," Horner said. Referring to then-Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, Horner said, "His campaign manager posted my story about a protester getting paid $3,500 as fact. Like, I made that up. I posted a fake ad on Craigslist."
.....
Asked by the Post’s Caitlin Dewey why he posted the fake story, Horner responded, "Just ’cause his supporters were under the belief that people were getting paid to protest at their rallies, and that’s just insane. I’ve gone to Trump protests — trust me, no one needs to get paid to protest Trump. I just wanted to make fun of that insane belief, but it took off. They actually believed it."

When I heard tv/radio pundits talk as if this was a normal election cycle, I knew that they did not understand.

It would all be a tragic farce, if it weren't true.

YES!

I have a brother that is very much like that. (a Trump supporter, of course).

We were always like "oil & water" - - he didn't know what to do with me. I was not affected by his charisma. I did not fall under his Spell.

It sucked being his sister (being treated 2nd class), watching everyone fawn over him - - when I could see him for who he was.

We haven't spoken in years, but we're connected online. Today, I see his insecurities more then ever. He needs to be loved and validated. It must have really bothered him that he never got that from me.

He is not just talking points. He gets things done. He singlehandedly beat the GOP field. He then beat the DNC and they spent 2 billion dollars to stop him...that we know off. He beat the largest political crime I mean family there is right now. All of them.

Too bad the president is not dictator. Congress will make sure Trump doesn't get anything meaningful done. MAGA will most likely turn out to be just another pipe dream.

Since we're going to run the country like a business, I have decided that, after this post election trial period, Trump is a defective product. It continues to exhibit extremely poor judgment and temperament for the office. I would like to return this product, but, because I cannot, I am stuck with it.

I will set it in the corner. No matter how hard I stare at it, it will never overcome its defects and perform as advertised. Now instead I will just have to help mitigate its ill effects.

..... at least with a robot vacuum that smears indoor dog feces around the house while you're at work, I can turn it off and run it only at certain times. The Trump product is designed to run 24/7, with no off switch, so be prepared for the feces to smear and pile up.
