I'm from the UK were all laughing at how dumb you are to have elected someone without doing any research and releived that you may finally grasp bombing every nation to accept democracy when you don't even have an informed populace may finally make you stop.
I and my family have been held down at gunpoint when entering the US for laughing about how all the news is only ever about America, land of the free/free speech my arse.
Look at this picture, look at how trump built his weakth on using chinese and mexican illegal imigrants to build his wealth and hopefully you'll grasp why the rest of the world is laughing at all of you.

Please don't try to speak on the behalf of 60 million of us. You massively miss the irony of making those arguments in this particular discussion.
Sure, the likes of the BBC and C4 will take the piss and ridicule it but they represent a single left-wing viewpoint of the world. Brexit and the Trump election shows that the attempted social engineering doesn't work. To paraphrase Hillary, people have simply developed differing public and private viewpoints.
As has been said, expect Le Pen in France next.
The EU have shown their true colours calling an "emergency meeting" to discuss the US election result. That bastion of undemocratic bureaucracy is terrified of the people turning against them in the same way.
First off, you can't wish away inconvenient evidence based on a rigorous examination of news (especially political) programming and the affiliations of BBC guests. That research has been done and shows a clear privileging of conservative talking heads. Labour did not experience a similar preponderance when it was in power. And, of course, conservative-inclined people are welcome to repeat the research - they will come up with the same results. The same is true of BBC Question Time, in which the number of rightwing commentators and business people outweighed lefty writers, celebs and trade unionists. The rightwing reply to these facts, that can be checked independently through content analysis, tends to dismiss them. In Question Time's case, on Twitter and the Biased BBC site the response to my little piece was that filming tended to take place in leftwing areas, with leftwing audiences asking leftwing questions and applauding leftwing statements. Naturally, no support was or could be cited to back up these claims.
One of the most striking findings was the dominance of party political sources. In coverage of immigration, the EU and religion, these accounted for 49.4% of all source appearances in 2007 and 54.8% in 2012. In reporting of the EU the dominance was even more pronounced with party political sources accounting for 65% of source appearances in 2007 and 79.2% in 2012. Political sources were also much more likely than other sources to be featured in the opening sections of news reports which had the consequence of reports being framed from party political perspectives which other sources then had to respond to. Among political sources, Labour and Conservatives dominate coverage accounting for 86% of source appearances in 2007 and 79.7% in 2012. Our data also show that Conservatives get more airtime than Labour. Bearing in mind that incumbents always receive more coverage than opposition politicians, the ratio was much more pronounced when the Conservatives were in power in 2012.

It's the same video
Imagine how it would have been with a woman running the White house crying every time something did not go her way.
An emotionally distraught woman in the White house with her trembling and angry finger on the nuclear button. Thanks, but no...

Excellent. Their news is pretty balanced. I appreciate that, but you were talking about comedy programming.

Fair point and a true one, but considering how many old right wing beeb comedians turned out to be racist paedos they have good reason to avoid them. If I remeber orrectly Greg Dyke put out a warning saying they'd lose broadcasting licence if they hired another Jim Davidson or Saville.

The BBC tend to be quite pragmatic and balanced in most areas. They put up with a moron like Clarkson for as long as possible because of his popularity. Whilst I know it was a fairly loose example from you, and an unnecessarily glib response from me; but it actual raises an interesting topic in relation to the media one is exposed to colouring your worldview. We are moving more and more away from traditional media to internet based social media or on demand sources. The selective process can give false confirmation of our own opinions. Balance is difficult because most of us aren't actually looking to have our minds changed.
From the very second we are born, we become trapped in an ideological prison where our world view and interpretation of events is completely limited to what we already believe to be true. There is no such thing as being unbiased, unbiased is inescapable. It has become so ingrained and accepted it as truth that we don't even notice when the media and politicians use words like General Pinochet and Colonel Gaddafi whilethe Queen and President of the USA are referred to as President and monarchy instead of Commander in Chief/Head of Warfare Obama or Commander in Chief/Head of Warfare Elizabeth II
In a back cover review of the same book in 2007 [The Future of Journalism In Advanced Democracies] Bob Franklin, the editor of Journalism Studies and Journalism Practice, said:
‘This book poses significant and timely questions about the complex and shifting relationships between journalists and politicians in modern democracies. The answers provided by the distinguished group of contributing scholars and journalists are original, illuminating and thought provoking.’
Trumps solution for defeating ISIS was to talk to Bill Gates about turning the internet off - and peiple still voted for him. Even the most ardent Trump supporter should see how stupid that is.

Yes I'm pro EU remain but inly if reform is done as there's major problems with the EU but we recuieve hundreds billions from them per year - even brexit leaders admitted they lied and wanted to remain within 24 hours of the outcome.
