It is the point when you realize the world you have lived in is a lie....and revealing the absolute corruption in the government, and expanded from there.

But who in today's age doesn't assume or even suspect that politicians and govt officials lie to their people in one way or another? I would be genuinely surprised if I came across a person who was 100% genuine in their belief their govt operated on a completely transparent level.

Part of being awakened is realization that there is a dark undercurrent in society, and they are the ones in power. I also think in order to be awakened, one must have a clear understanding of right and wrong.

Again, how does knowing right from wrong signify awakening? Your understanding or belief in what is 'right' and 'wrong' could be different from mine, based on experience and culture. Does that mean one of us is 'awakened' while the other is not?

So I also believe awakening requires the willingness to educate others to their blindness.

Hmm, sounds a bit arrogant and egotistical to be honest. You're now pushing your beliefs onto others and assuming because they (in your opinion) don't see what you see means they are blind.

How is your approach any different from the religious zealots or fundamentalists who believe they are right and others are wrong and 'enforce' their beliefs onto others? I'm not having a go, I'm just curious as to your view on the comparison.

I think that is the reason we all come here, to educate ourselves and each other. We all have blindness in one aspect or another,

I don't disagree on the sentiment, however, i do on your approach. If someone wants to question things and seek out the answers, brilliant. But I, nor many others, want someone to preach to me or try to 'educate' me in their belief system. I hope you can understand how that can be seen.

I'm sure you don't mean it that way, but when I read about people and 'awakening' or finding out 'hidden truths' of the world, it very often sounds like the voices in this thread : I know something you don't. i won't immediately tell you want that is in plain english. Instead, I'll allude to it in metaphors and allegory and let you interpret it however you feel, all the while trying to appear from a positions of elevated privilege of knowledge.

I much prefer it when people come across some personal 'awakening', and just keep it to themselves.

After 30min of forming a reply, I was backspacing a typo and hit the mouse pad by accident and poof, it was all gone. Got to love it. I will try to shorten my answer.

There is a big difference in politicians lying to you, and the basic structure of the system being designed to suppress you.

There are basic, fundamental truths that cross all cultures. We all know it is wrong to kill or steal. Can we justify to ourselves that we should do these things? Sure, but deep down we all know it is wrong. That is why we get so angry when we are stolen from or a loved one is killed.

I can see how you would think that, but I use education for lack of a better term. The difference is, I only present the truth, and allow you to draw your own conclusions. Religious zealots and fundamentalist demand compliance. Good examples are the recent beheadings by Muslims for being gay, christian, or not Muslim enough. Christians also have a long violent history towards non believers. Truth will always stand on it's own merit, and in itself is self evident.

I wish I could lay out a post and explain everything. The truth is it takes months of conversations to begin to pass on the things I know to be true. That is why I generally avoid forums in discussing this. A two minute conversation in real life can take days to develop on a forum. It mainly consists of laying out a small provable statement, that is very hard to believe. Then discussing it for a while and allowing independent research to validate. Many of these statements are required to be known and understood to go to the next step. If I told you what I thought out of the gate, you would just dismiss me a crazy. I may be crazy, but you shouldn't dismiss me based on that. I can prove what I believe. I have learned to start with the proof, then allow the person to come to the same conclusion on their own. It takes the building of fundamental concepts, and putting them together in a coherent format before there is any chance of understanding the big picture.
