'People have been very passionate about this race. And I think it's because we all love our country, we just have different ideas about what's best for it.
'Which is part of what makes America great. And I believe that we can all come together because if you take away the labels, you realize we're far more alike than we are different,' she added.
Of Mr. Trump, Mrs. Clinton said she hoped that he would be “a successful president for all Americans,” and that she respected and cherished the peaceful transition of power. She told her supporters that they must accept that Mr. Trump would be president. “We owe him an open mind and a chance to lead,” she said.
President Obama, speaking in Washington, also said that he would work to ensure a smooth transition to a Trump administration and that, despite their differences, we are “all rooting for his success.”
Mr. Obama reminded the country that we “are all on the same team” and characterized politics as an “intramural scrimmage.” He said that he was heartened by the conversation that he had with Mr. Trump at 3:30 a.m. and that he hoped Mr. Trump maintains that spirit.
'President-Elect Trump promised to rebuild our economy for working people, and I offer to put aside our differences and work with him on that task.
'But, like Donald Trump so ironically played after his speech, it said, ''You can't always get what you want.'' And happy hippies, we adjust and we accept everyone for who they are. And so Donald Trump, I accept you.
'And this hurts to say, but I even accept you as the President of the United States, and that's fine, that's fine because I think now I want to be a hopeful hippie.
'But please just treat people with love and treat people compassion and treat people with respect and I will do the same for you.'
The messages varied from: 'Stay positive, positive things will happen' to 'I feel like love lost. I want to make it win again. How do we fix this?'
This is the first day in a long time where I have done nothing but be on the forums all day. Yours is the first real thread that has tried to be positive in a sea of negativity... Thanks for the refreshment.

I don't disagree with you and certainly not the message they are trying to convey. I just don't believe "them."
It is my opinion that these fools are given way more credit than they are deserving of and are the root cause of what caused this mess. It is what it is for now and I also agree that we should be working together to hold Trump in line.
I will read your article. I've never counted out voice of Democrats, only those that wished to silence mine.

That's nice and all, but talk is cheap right now. Lets see what they have to say a few weeks after President Trump is inaugurated in January. You'll have to excuse me if I doubt their sincerity.

this is a nice change. I hope to see more of this. We have at least 4 years to see what happens.
Be Positive and Optimistic about the future. Being mad and upset won't change it a bit, but it will change you.

Obama and Hillary I simply cannot trust.
Miley Cyrus? Was she posting this from Canada? Wasn't she supposed to have moved out of the country by now?
Elizabeth Warren ... we'll see. The problem is that, as Ellen said, we have very different ideas of what constitutes helping the American people. I have a sneaking suspicion that she will only go along as long as she sees things that are exactly what she wants in which case, why did we vote? Maybe I'm wrong, but I've watched the Democrats "extend an olive branch" too many times in the past to think anything else.
In that spirit, I accept the comments made and look forward to the America I lost... the one where everyone had their say and people worked out their problems amicably.
