If I were to get a preference it would be for a Motherly type not someone who poses in skimpy metal underwear, but she certainly fits better with today's world. Imo she will be our version of Princess Di/Kate. The world thinks we're loud mouth hillbillies. Maybe people think that about Donald too but if he loves Melania she could work wonders to soften his image/enhance his presidency. We need to give them both a chance.
Either way Melania will be an interesting/refreshing change. I'm a bit bias my hubby is eastern European/Serb, the women in his family are absolutely gorgeous not to mention fluent in several languages and expert hostesses. I can't think of better traits for a first lady. I'm confident Melania will represent us well.

How can you compare the two? She was all about morals and values, I don't think we ever saw her chest in an outfit!

Beauty is not class and neither is $$ it is about actions and behavior.

Which is more than fair. We didn't exactly vote for any first lady. Them stepping out in a authoritive role shouldn't be allowed. If we voted for them as potus, that's a totally different story, in which the first man or whatever, should be restricted to just social matters.

I will withhold judgement until I have seen what cause she picks up, but I have to admit she will have a tough time unseating Laura Bush as the classiest First Lady in my lifetime. Regardless of your opinion on GWB, Laura was always dignified. I also admit that I found her to be fairly attractive for a First Lady (though Melania absolutely takes the gold medal on that one now.) Laura gave America no reason to dislike her... she never harangued or nannied the country like Mrs Obama has been prone to do, she wasn't a stick in the mud like Nancy Reagan, and she sure as hell wasn't riding her husband's coattails like Hillary was. Barbara Bush was OK, too, I suppose... although I don't recall her actually doing much at all until after she was out of the First Lady role.

We don't know how well she speaks them or whether they, like some of her other credentials, are publicity and not reality.

Growing up in Europe, it's not uncommon to speak several languages in a multilingual area (like the place where she grew up.) It's unusual for America, yes.

I would like a First Lady that is more active in social causes (Eleanor Roosevelt, Lady Bird Johnson, Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama, Barbara Bush, Laura Bush, etc) and not one that stands around looking pretty and occasionally talking about something that's Appropriately Womanly.
