I have medium grey eyes that tend to look blue when tired or upset.....dark grey when angry. My son has beautiful light grey eyes, and my daughter the same as mine. They change too. I too have intense sensitivity to sunlight, night driving (cannot see a frikin thing) and snow blindness. So, I'm not so sure its just a green eyed thing?? Had my eyes checked and do not need glasses. And for S+Giggles....I have AB negative blood. The first I've heard of a blood type involvement/conspiracy....so will be looking into that for fun for sure!

Light sensitivity is related to reflection of light which is why it happens so frequently with light colored eyes. My eyes are blue/grey/purple (depending on mood, lighting, etc....) and I also have light sensitivity.

The darker colors tend to dominate, so brown tends to win out over green, and green tends to win out over blue.

...

The iris is a muscle that expands and contracts to control pupil size. The pupil enlarges in dimmer lighting and grows smaller in brighter lighting. The pupil also shrinks when you focus on near objects, such as a book you are reading.

When the pupil size changes, the pigments in the iris compress or spread apart, changing the eye color a bit.

Certain emotions can change both the pupil size and the iris color. That's why some people say their eyes change colors when they're angry or loving.

Eye color also can change with age. This happens in 10 to 15 percent of the Caucasian population (people who generally have lighter eye colors).

All About Eye Color

As I mentioned above, my eyes can range from grey -

to blue (NO THIS IS NOT PHOTOSHOPPED!) -

I know it's not photoshopped...
You have my children's eyes.
The Griffin is getting more muddled by the day eye color wise, but I've seen it. Thanks

I would post pictures of my eyes, but... last time I did some "Lo Pan" dude kidnapped me, and made me grab a stupid flaming sword... my eyes glowed. It was awesome.

But....

Kurt Russel showed up, and it was all good....

"Aren't you going to kiss her, Jack?"
"No"

Here's where my conspiracy side comes out, but I'm honestly afraid of naming my blood type for fear that I end up a transplant victim for one of those undying elites

BTW.. the Shroud of Turin had AB neg blood, so perhaps you share Jesus's blood type.

I am exactly the same.

My eyes look green or blue or,in between.

Depends on surrounding colors and/or clothing.

My license says hazel though.

It's at least half right.

Not to devolve this into a rH factor thing, though feel free to everyone, but the only other ab+ I have ever met is my gf's father. She is o- just like my mother...

Yup. Sums it up succinctly.

I might turn in for a few hours of sleep.
I'll tune back in this thread in the am.

Cheers all

Hi, I strangely have a different memory of this.. just started a thread on it, (so as not to derail yours) in case you're interested in contributing.

Have a great night!

I have olive colored green eyes, dark olive. I haven't noticed any changes in eye color when angry sad or happy. They stay the same color.

People seem enamored by my eyes & when I was a young teenager I never thought much about how rare it is to have. A woman stopped me one day and said I had beautiful eyes, " cat like " she described them.

I have red hair & am very light sensitive. So sensitive I cannot drive at night because headlights blind me, street lights blind me ( the new bright white ones, not orange ones ) even the traffic light blinds me, especially the green one. My night vision isn't as good as it used to be since I've gotten older though.

Looking at the moon even hurts my eyes sometimes.....

Anyone else?
Glad to see so many green eyed people here. Forgot to add, as for blood type I'm A+

Mine are hazel. They scare the crap out of babies in shopping carts.

I have hazel-green eyes! And my son's are a bluey-green.

With mine though - sometimes they're a dark brown, sometimes they're browny green, sometimes they're pure green, and sometimes one is brown and the other green. Lately I've noticed that one of my irises will sometimes be half and half which I thought was quite neat when I first saw it happening.

I find that they tend to change with my mood, and if in direct sunlight or not. More green when feeling particularly happy, or when in the bright sunlight. And in saying that, I -do- have an eye sensitivity to the sun (*I used to get horrible headaches when in the sun, but nowadays it's more just blinded, sometimes to the stage where my vision will black out for a moment or two. Bright lights affect me too, and I hate car headlights while out at night).

I also have excellent night vision - I used to use it to my advantage when I was a child; when I was supposed to be sleeping, I'd be reading my books in the dark.

My blood type is O+, just mentioning since I saw mention of blood types in the replies, just adding mine too.

How does blood type play into eye color? This isn't the first time I've seen both talked about together. I'm AB-, just looking for clarification on the subject.

It's just something that's come up before. I think there might be an older thread on it.

Kinda creepy. Best I can do this late at night. They're light green.

Mine are damn near identical to yours

As for everyone else's comments:

Mine change color do to mood, green is happy, greyish when sad, and more often than not, they're bloodshot

I get killer headaches in bright light that are almost instant when reflected off of something like a car or window

I can't see worth a damn while driving at night and headlights are brutal

Horribly light sensitive

But...

In near dark, my vision is excellent

Throughout my life I've been told my eyes were hypnotic or mesmerizing, and they've always been a hit with the ladies

I'll take a red-headed velociraptor triggered by movement any day. I'm married(happily) to a brunette, and they're set off by sound, it's a scientific fact...... every time I speak it causes an attack response

Finally,

OMG kaelci, your eyes are STUNNING, I just don't have the vocabulary to give them the praise that they truly deserve. There have been just a handful of times in my life when I have been instantly awe struck by another person, and those eyes did it to me tonight.

All eyes are beautiful ! Little tiny universal explosions.

My eyes are the green hazel variety. Sometimes they look like a fiery amber color and other times they are greener.

I love having green eyes! My mother did, and I do, but that's all I can list from our family. And, yes, they change with mood! Funny thing, my oldest, blue-eyed, has seen the same sorts of changes. My dad's were blue, and his didn't change.

Weirder, I have other rare traits as well - negative blood, actual ear lobes (not attached), lower than average body temp, and that's just the physical stuff. Always wondered if it was related.
