German Streets Descend into Lawlessness - "We are losing control of the streets."

During the first six months of 2016, migrants committed 142,500 crimes, according to the Federal Criminal Police Office. This is equivalent to 780 crimes committed by migrants every day, an increase of nearly 40% over 2015. The data includes only those crimes in which a suspect has been caught.

Thousands of migrants who entered the country as "asylum seekers" or "refugees" have gone missing. They are, presumably, economic migrants who entered Germany on false pretenses. Many are thought to be engaging in robbery and criminal violence.

Local police in many parts of the country admit that they are stretched to the limit and are unable to maintain law and order.

"Drug trafficking takes place right before our eyes. If we intervene, we are threatened, spat on, insulted. Sometimes someone whips out a knife. They are always the same people. They are ruthless, fearless and have no problems with robbing even the elderly." — Private security guard.

According to Freddi Lohse of the German Police Union in Hamburg, many migrant offenders view the leniency of the German justice system as a green light to continue delinquent behavior. "They are used to tougher consequences in their home countries," he said. "They have no respect for us."

"It cannot be that offenders continue to fill the police files, hurt us physically, insult us, whatever, and there are no consequences. Many cases are closed or offenders are released on probation or whatever. Yes, what is happening in the courts today is a joke." — Tania Kambouri, German police officer.

In Hamburg, statistics show that migrants committed nearly half of the 38,000 crimes reported in Hamburg during the first six months of 2016, although migrants make up only a fraction of the city's 1.7 million inhabitants. Police say that many of the crimes were committed by "migrant gangs" (ausländischen Banden).

City police say they are helpless to confront a spike in crimes committed by young North African migrants. Hamburg is now home to more than 1,800 so-called unaccompanied minor migrants (minderjährige unbegleitete Flüchtlinge, MUFL), most of whom live on the streets and apparently engage in all manner of criminal acts, including purse snatching.

More than 20,000 purses are snatched in Hamburg every year. Most of those are stolen by males between the ages of 20 and 30 who come from the Balkans or North Africa, according to Norman Großmann, the director of the federal police inspector's office in Hamburg. In recent months, police have carried out operations (here and here) to confront the problem, but the actions have yielded few arrests.

Since when do governments spew negative data consistently and accurately concerning their poor decisions, especially when it comes to immigration in the EU?

In any event, I moved out of Germany and back to The States in 2002--contemporary Germany is nothing like it was when I left it, and I work side-by-side with someone who lived there for 10 years and is married to a Germany woman, and I keep in touch via Facebook regularly with some of my old Germany friends, so I'm not speaking out of ignorance, here. Unbiased or not--if the information is accurate (even if one-sided), or even half-accurate, then it doesn't bode well for Ms. Merkel's decisions regarding immigration.

even I as a democrat agree that Merkel went to far...her country is too small for that amount of immigrants to assimilate, and the refugees didn't go through the rigorous process that middle eastern people go through when they come to America

At least not me, not anybody that i know, nobody is feared because of criminality more than before the overseas made refugee situation europe has to deal with. I bet with all these refugees and migrants we still have way less criminals on our streets than the USA has.

There are real fears like that of old-age poverty, of being a wage-slave till the end of your life, of becomig homeles because rents are rising nonstop(for the profit of the rich house owners or housing corporations), of being observed and used by the rulers that are the puppets of the rich, of being driven into an war in europe, with russia, because of the US/NATO aggressiveness.

This has always been the history of the USA. Everyone is descended from immigrants. Except for native americans of course.

Not every immigrant is a scumbag. Many are decent hard working people. What you are doing is fear mongering.

Where did they get this 'data'? And why would they ignore the rise of right-winger attacks in this 'article'? I dunno, couldn't bring myself to read the whole piece.

Preliminary figures have shown that right-wing violence in Germany almost doubled in 2015, compared to 2014.

Only reason why its spreading is because it is being allowed to happen. Once the locals and militias have had enough, you can expect that violence to be pushed further south back to Mexico.

I KNOW why cops in the US 'target' low income housing, to get the numbers of felony arrests in order to garner more Federal Funds. The folks existing in low income housing CAN'T/won't afford a private attorney and a 'plea deal' of 5-10 years looks a lot better than 15-30. But why would a 'private security guard' give 2 squirts about drug trafficking? Get "them" the right drugs and 'they' will be easier to control. Did the Germans remove ALL the fluoride in the drinking supply AFTER WWII?

There is a GULF between drug "trafficking" (it really isn't 'trafficking' until large amounts are involved) and Robbery.

But if You're not intervening when witnessing a felony robbery because You might get spat upon or the alleged crook 'may' pull a weapon, You're not in the right line of work.
