As many already know, the American educational system is a joke. Can teachers even get fired?

At a 4th grade field trip to a local bowling alley, this teacher was found passed out drunk in the bathroom.

Maria Caya sued the city of Janesville, Wisconsin after she showed up to a field trip drunk. She claimed she was emotionally distressed after the police released her blood alcohol level test results. She received a $75,000 settlement and $18,000 to resign because district officials stated it would have cost more in legal fees to fire her.

One crappy lawyer could have gotten her on child endangerment, breach of contract and drunk in a public place. Sounds like excuses.

She was emotionally distressed about the release of the info but not at all about the cause of the info.

It's about a year's salary and expenses. They got rid of her. It would have cost the district a lot more to get into the ring with her. Big deal. Be glad they did it instead of keep her on and hush it up.

And to think she initially filed a $5.5M lawsuit...

The parents of the children should sue her!
