Fleet Of Android Robots To Begin Policing The Streets By 2017

According to a report from the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX), a fleet of android robots will police the streets of Dubai as early as 2017. Videos from Dubai’s annual computer and electronic trade show featured new prototypes of the robot shaking hands, saluting, and brandishing a touchscreen interface by which people can report crimes or pay traffic fines.

It is another indicator that we are fast approaching an age of automatic policing. The robot cop prototype is able to scan faces, possibly serving as a new mobile street surveillance tool. In the coming months, a team consisting of Dubai Police, IBM’s supercomputer, Watson, and Google will improve the robot’s artificial intelligence technology so it can “spot people from 10 meters or 20 meters away, approach them and greet them,” said Dubai Police’s Technical Innovations Department Head Major Adnan Ali.

We’re expecting for it to be in tourist areas at first in 2017, near Burj Khalifa, GPR, City Walk and by 2020 we want to have a more thorough area covered.

It won't be long before it's here is USA. This seems to be a Trial Run ... This is the Establishments wet dream, to monitor, control, and run every human being in the US and beyond for their NWO to be solidified.

I personally think robots are pretty damn awesome!! With that said WTF! Soon we will be hearing that due to the increased police violence this would be the best way to solve the problem. The sheeple will eat it up. I would be willing to bet these first ones are not armed and are programmed to be very friendly. Then we will see the need for armed bots (attacks against them or something) arise then it will be all down hill from there.

I can see small drones being utilized for Police actions and patrol here in the U.K rather soon considering how much we already rely on CCTV for surveillance purposes.

Lets face it the UK is the most heavily surveyed of any of the first world nations so it makes sense as to take the capability mobile.

The implications however are Orwellian in the extreme.

Robots as police officers? It's about time!!! Machines cannot be influenced and are uncorruptable. You can thank all the crooked cops for making this happen!

Edit: Also it would be nice to see some robocop units on the streets too. I'd like to see anyone try to claim racism by getting locked up by a robocop. That would be funny as hell to watch.

Dubai's laws are brutal. Police already carry out public beatings, executions without trial, whipping and arresting women for driving cars and not wearing modest Islamic dress in public, imagine when they programme robots to do this

At least I hope they would make reprogramming these androids almost impossible and a felony for attempting to alter equipment after it was issued from the manufacturer.

Let us hope the machines decide to use humans as a power source, like in the movie Matrix, because that's our only chance of avoiding extinction.

Yeah this sounds about right, we can't even create passwords that are original or protect our secure data as it is, let's just go ahead and put such machines on the public streets, yeah sounds lovely... Meanwhile I'm going to keep looking for the off button to this horrible episode of twilight zone.

Living in the current day and age is akin to being a caveman still, as we the people have the power yet we're too selfish to understand that concept and unite to create the changes we want, instead we believe in democracy and the sham of elections and presidential systems.

The elite created financial problems for the peasants. The peasants start stealing to survive.

Then the elite move in with their droids to solve the crime problem.

Just like the film 'Robocop'. Watch out for the 'shoot-to-kill' ED209's that the security corporations are about to put on the streets. Especially the ones that function like cops that shoot people who take their ID card out of their inner coat pocket.

The part I find hardest to take in about this is the fact that they just spent so much money on really expensive police cars for their human force.
