David Ducovny played a transsexual DEA agent in Twin Peaks before he went on to play Fox Mulder in X Files.

I have tried to watch Twin Peaks before, on Netflix. I've heard great things about it, but I can't seem to get past the first 3 or 4 episodes. Perhaps it's the dated presentation. I'm sure it was a lot different watching it first-run.

Same here. Late 80s is quite old for attempting to get interested.

Alas, Ill try again!

Netflix suggested it to me years ago. The late 80 s mill town opening really had me doubting until I recognized the road and then Snoqualmie Falls. Because I knew the area, the opening drew me in. Then I thought it was satire, making fun of the PNW and other shows common at the time. It has everything! You have a murder mystery with a soap opera feel, the moody teenage love triangle, a cop drama, military sci fi, abusive spouse, rich bad guys, situational comedy etc.
Then the bizarre happens. I think the red room is in the third episode with the dwarf.

I think most ATS members would love the show. It's strange, hilarious, and keeps the brain working.

All the characters are likeable in there own ways. I didn't like the Moody teenage guy (can't remember his name) or Heather Grahams waitress character. But I'm sure some could relate to them.

David Lynch is directing the new season. Mark Frost wrote all the episodes for the new season and he authored The Secret History book.

I'd never watched this show before but read on here that it was really good. I tried to watch the first episode the other night with my wife but it was so slow moving we couldn't do it. I'm sure it's a good show but I would have had to have started watching it back in the day to get into it enough to catch up to the current episodes. I just don't thing it will happen.

One of those type, eh?

My suggestion is to watch the prequel film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me first.

That's actually how it happened for me, I saw the prequel film in my teens (made after seasons 1-2 were cancelled) and then I watched seasons 1-2 on netflix around 2011, and then I waited ever so patiently for tonight. Season 3, the Twin Peaks Reboot aired just moments go on Showtime! IT WAS FANTASTIC.

Nevermind the slow pace, less is more in a Lynchian universe.

I don't know, what type are you talking about? As for me, I like a good story and slow paced is what I grew up on back in the '60s and '70s, but my wife is 23 years my junior and doesn't have the patience I do. I guess I did make it sound like it was me but I was only afraid she was getting bored with it. I may give it a chance on my own though.

Oh, and thanks for the link, I'll check that out.
