Can we say that there needs to be solution in order to stop these questionable shootings and to put all argument to rest? It is easy to say that the right to due process is something that should be honored, but most people would fire if drawn upon. However in questionable circumstances wouldn’t be a solution for officers to set weapons for stun?

State impunity is at the root of the problem of police violence. The government has granted the police special consideration to use excessive violence to enforce the law and combat crime. We have expected this, and many have accepted this as our way of life in the post 9/11 era. However, it is not at all anti-law enforcement to say that some of what we are seeing being done by badly trained and corrupt police officers would be and could be considered criminal behavior if it were committed by the average citizen. This power to use deadly force at will for any reason has now given every police officer “qualified immunity.” So why is it so bad to ask if the other option is to set weapons for stun?
