Can't order from Amazon. Thanks Hillary. Was going to vote for you but now that bridge is burned. All because of your damn private server.

There's so much wrong with this, I dont even know where to begin.

Read about this just a few hours ago and well it seems more like an automated attack than a goal oriented attack.

More like a botnet was being exercised and improved upon. You haven't seen nothing yet, wait until even more of our lives DEPEND on the internet, that's when you'll see a DDoS on the scales that will scare you.

We have yet to really see a wide spread DDoS that put's sites down for a while, it's very possible, with the way people become so complacent with technology and security in general it's only a matter of time before the perfect storm occurs to force the new net on us all in the name of security and propganda, this will be when many average users start using darknets and sidechains more as well as the birth of the freedomnet ( group of underground folks dedicated to networking each other to formulate an unrestricted access.

What's amazing is we still use the internet like we do, never would I ever imagined people putting so much information about themselves online, as if they just don't care, I understand many " feel " they have nothing to hide, but that's not the case, it's that you are even searchable and can be found for any number of reasons, the Salem witch trials come to mind.

Having a persona and having your life online are two completely different things.

Well something is going on with Amazon. I haven't been able to order anything in two days.

That's odd, I ordered colored pencils on there yesterday evening and it says "Order is on the way.. arriving by 8pm tomorrow". I'm on the East coast (New England) as well.

Does anyone think we should be worried if we have a Credit Card saved on Amazon?

I would be. But again- Im on the Mr Robot train and I see this Ddos attack as some kind of honey pot for a future major hack

Probably not? DDoS usually are just disruptive, not theft related. I would however monitor that card, like any card that is stored online anywhere.

No. a DDoS attack is purely to prevent the site from working.

There's nothing that suggests the sites were actually hacked or information was gathered.

A lot of the affected sites are back up....Github is still down though.

Most people consider a DDOS attack different then a hack.

Link fixed and yes my avatar is awful.

I really don't know what's going on but I'm on the east coast now and my connection to websites have been dropping out.

Hopefully this is nothing serious but something doesn't sit right. Be it a hack or a "test", something is happening.

But which sells papers and gets views more on news sites?

East Coast sites hacked!!!!

East Coast sites prevented from running correctly due to an attack of (possibly) thousands of computer/phone/tablet trying to connect at the same time.

It's an attack. A DDoS attack (distributed denial of service). It's done and doing exactly what it was designed to do. Prevent websites/servers from functioning properly or at all.

This may/may not be unrelated, but iHeart Radio is not functioning either (I usually listen to Rush via iHeart) and I've got nothing. I tried using Tunein so that I could get another station but same thing happened.

Stations themselves are still broadcasting as I could hear it when I was in my car, but when I came inside to try and listen through my phone no deal.

If there's some potentially big info coming out keeping as many people from hearing it would make sense.

If our government was behind this, could it be for the purpose of blaming the Russians... and an added bonus of keeping people from reading the Wikileaks release?

Dyn warns of another attack

"We have begun monitoring and mitigating a DDoS attack against our Dyn Managed (Domain Name System) infrastructure. Our Engineers are continuing to work on mitigating this issue," Dyn said on its website at 11:52 a.m.

A Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack is when a web service is intentionally overwhelmed by traffic from many sources. It is a common method for digital assaults. The White House said U.S. authorities are monitoring reports of attack on the internet services company and whether it is a "criminal act," according to Reuters. Many prominent websites including Amazon, Twitter, Spotify and CNBC.com were shut down for two hours Friday morning by an earlier denial of service attack.

Well if this is the Russian, China invasion, then it proves that America does not have God protecting her anymore.

Like many old folks, god isn't very well-versed on the internet.
