I did a search on"Santa Inocencia" and found nothing.
300 years ago a little girl received Holy Communion. Afterwards, her father stabs her to death.
In the Cathedral of Guadalajara in Mexico, a visitor is filming the child saint where she lays in state. Through the glass casket, you can see her, in her post mortem state. During the video, it appears that her eyes twitch, then she opens them and stares at the camera. I don't know if this is a hoax, or real, but it certainly made my hair stand up. Watch it, it is very creepy!

This one gives some history about the little girl.

Don't worry, the video is working now.

That's a very creepy event indeed, nice find. For now I can't verify the credibility of the YouTube user who posted it up.

However, assuming that it's real, I think that there's a very simple explanation: the eyelids reached a relaxed state.

When I sleep I sometimes sleep with my eyes partially opened, that's because the eyelids' most relaxed state is one where it's not firmly closed. In fact it's very common, in death, for the eyelids to remain partially opened - something which embalmers actually remedy by placing cotton (in the olden days) or plastic thingy to keep the eyes closed.

My opinion is that whatever was keeping her eyes closed simply stopped holding after all this time. It was a tiny tug-of-war between the stuff holding her eyes shut and the force of the eyelids attempting to reach their relaxed state, and the eyelids eventually won.

All I'm seeing is a video lens coming into focus on a semi-open eye, where previously, it was blurry and dark.

I don't see an eye opening. But them, I also don't believe the laws of nature suspend themselves for the benefit of the religiously inclined.

Corpse worship. Worshipping the dead.

When I was twelve we visited Europe and my family, being weirdly devoted to churches, took a tour of some old churches in Germany. One of them had two glass cases up front where (I swear to god) there was these old skeletons dressed in finery and wearing jewels. The bodies were in repose, laying down but propped up and looking at the church assemblage during services. Kind of in your face sort of thing. The day we visited they were doing some revery thing where the people filed by the glass cases and did a sign of the cross, curtsy thing?

When Me and my brother got there, I was twelve he was eight, we oogled the skeletons and the jewels on the rings they were wearing. We got a reprimanded outside, our parents were scolded (nicely) by the clergy and we had to do 'penance' by filing by the 'caskets' once more and this time showing 'proper' respect.

Lol, we did the same thing, even louder. I scoffed at their worship and adornment of corpses. I still do. They were sorely peeved.

White washed tombs...

Creepy for sure but the convenient blurring as the eyes open and close is too much to be a coincidence...in my humble opinion, of course.

I'm curious as to wether or not her eyes Stayed open after this incident. That would be telling in itself really.

If they stayed open then one of the theories presented here might hold water, if they closed again, well, then it is kind of creepy...

Fun post either way OP.

It's ok, just a little ancient gas, it'll settle.

I remember somewhere at some point someone had debunked this as a trick of the light, and also showed how it was done. This was a few years ago though >

Those corpses in churches were actual people once, and they are venerated because of how they lived their lives. None of those people are worshipped as God, or even gods- or even worshipped period. They are kept and venerated as people believed to be in Heaven with God.

But elevated to holier than thous status by preserving their body. You want to remember them, remember them for how they lived not their bodies. Not better than anyone else, only human.

Lends to classifying people as less than.

The video is blurry as hell. It seems that the eyes are already semi open and that he focused the image in a certain angle. This points out to trickery by the youtuber.

This is my opinion as a camera operator, anyway.
