What I took away from his OP was a bit different than maybe most people.

I remember when the movie Network first came out. I thought, "Wow!" "Somebody really gets it." I could see the kudzu growing at an alarming rate, and I thought, "This movie is just the thing to get other people to finally see what is really going on."

This was back in 1976. I had been out of High School for a while, had worked for the government, and was in my first year at University. This was fertilizer for my young budding brain. This is what I fixated on then.

Even I, didn't understand the full breath of what I was seeing. I didn't get the full dose of the medicine at the time. I guess I didn't realize that such a powerful message could be morphed into this.

Then came "Wag The Dog". It is 1998. I had finished my stint in the Air Force, and had successfully made it over half way up the corporate ladder. When I started to see the world I was entering with clear eyes, I didn't climb back down the ladder. I jumped.
I thought for sure people would get it now. That they would see what was happening right in front of our faces. I was lucky enough to have peeped behind the curtain a time or two. I was no threat, no one cared, so they didn't bother with their masks.

Again I thought, "People will now see just how easily we are manipulated". They would see that movie stars don't stop working when they step off the stage. That our loyalty, our patriotism, our country, is nothing more than a tool, a prop; just another way to control us, for them.

So is this a case of predictive programming? Is this an attempt to warn us? Is this an attempt to show us just how ridiculously lost we have allowed ourselves to become?

I am not just mad, I am tired. I am tired of us allowing ourselves to be so damn gullible.

I am sick and tried of us allowing ourselves to be used like contestants on a game show.

I am no different or better than any of you. I have no answers. I just know that we can't keep going on like this. I used to think that if we kept on this path we would be looking at a world like Oz or Idiocracy. On my dark days, it looks a lot more like Metropia, or Soylent Green. I now realize that what lies ahead, may be much worse than even what I think on my darkest days.

I don't know where we are headed, but if we don't change the path, I don't want to be there with you.

Good rant It seemed to me that no matter what move I could or did take that I was feeding the beast .Most people don't want the red pill and war seems to be something the Govt. will take care of and take care of the people that feed the system .

I collected seeds .I stopped buying into the consumer mentality and focused on getting those notions out of my day to day life . There is a lot you can learn from the saying that less is best .Down sizing in stages while getting a good grip on sentimentality . I think there might be a healthy approach to how and why we live ,while we see the world circulating the drain . I guess not fearing is the place to be despite all the fear porn put out . With that little rant I offer up this

Can't change nobody, except yourself.

Be the change you want to see. Take sacrifice upon yourself, instead of gorging at the kill, step back and stop supporting the status quo.

In the end you will be counted among those that were a part of the problem... or not.

I agree we are headed for some difficult times. I think this is inevitable, because we have been successfully condition and we are now well controlled.

What do you call a group of people that see a storm coming and don't take shelter? What do you call a group of people that see a brick being thrown at their head, and they don't duck, or try to avoid it? What do you call a group of people that watch the floor drop from under their feet, and they continue to believe they are standing on solid ground?

We are all just characters in "The House That Jack Built". We spend so much time trying to determine who did what, or who is responsible for what, and who will do something, that no one notices that there is no house. The house is just something that is believed to exist. And it has already been proven, we will believe anything that they want us to believe.

Yes I made a thread about it on ATS. It is not because I haven't taken other measures. It not that I haven't shared my fears and concerns before. It is not even because I really think it will make a big difference.

I know that some people are aware, and they are doing what they can about their situation. I know that some people have decided that it is hopeless, so why try? I know others are angry and feel helpless, so they turn a deaf ear and a blind eye. And some are angry, they feel hopeless, so they turn on each other.

I made a thread on ATS not for those that have already made up their mind, but for those that may be lurking and haven't made up their minds yet. Maybe if there are enough of us hoping, and doing what little we can, joining together, instead of allowing ourselves to be torn apart. Maybe. Just maybe, a small fraction of us will have a chance.

Even a seed as tiny as a mustard seed has the potential to become the largest plant in the garden. And yes. It might even help.

I'm totally aware of what will transpire in America in the not to distant future. So blessed to have options to leave.

Whoa!

I have never, ever, encouraged violent change.

That would be playing right into their hands, and doing exactly what they want us to do.

All change does not have to be violent. In fact, historically, some of the most effective protests have been peaceful ones.

I do indeed wish for change. I wish that people would also see that the power lies in their choices, not in their fist. The easiest way to defeat an enemy, is to nonviolently, starve it to near death.

We need to show a lot more discretion on where, and how we spend our money.

How does one disagree with another racially? I believe you mean there are racists posting here. They have no place and should be reported. Those affecting violent change on those they disagree with has been happening for a while now and is by design, part of the manipulation. We may disagree on those who are more actively pushing violent change at the moment though.

I'd say people.. people are actively pushing violent change. What's the point of putting a label on it, as that is terribly myopic. The Bushes and the Clintons are equally responsible for violence, as are the gangsters in Chicago and the gangsters in Washington.

History may be your friend .Long before iron showed up on the shores of North America there we groups of people living in a harmonic relationship with the enviroment . They didnt have the knowledge that we had but they didn't have the banks or the 401K's either . They didn't punch time clocks and did what they needed to survive and had good relations with other groups . They loved they fought but the most important thing is that they survived .

They learned how to create a water craft to cross long distances at sea to visit other places . They knew where and when the fish would run and seldom went hungry . True today is not quite the same as yester year but its doable . The bankers wanted all the money and they got it ...so what ...let them eat their money ,because humans are much much more then money .

We will survive but they will really suffer ,hiding in their underground bunkers in fear to not come out .Embrace life what ever that life offers you because its always going to have good and bad to it . Embrace the pain and the suffering because a few moments in the lap of luxury will never comfort you when things are bad .

My sentiments exactly. You can't eat money, gold, gems or things. Survival depends on our working together, with each other and with nature.

I grew up close to the Chesapeake Bay. We were poor but we never went hungry. Fall brought the time the community got together and prepared for the winter. Everyone was involved, even the little ones had chores to do. At the end of the day, everyone got their portions of the meat that went into the smokehouse. I remember as a child turning the meat grinder and longing to be old enough to put the meat in grinder to fill the casings. I remember the ladies making the crackling and the scrapple.

I remember harvesting the fruits and vegetables to go into the root cellar and the spring house. My grandma made wine from almost anything she could ferment, even pokeweed.

I shared this video in another thread, but I think it fits here as well. We have damaged our precious planet, but she is resilient. With love, respect, care, and the right balance, she will provide for us all.

Your vid didn't imbed but I too remember things like piling up rocks across rivers to build a weir to catch the fish . I remember my dad teaching me how to avoid the game wardens while checking my rabbit snares to bring meat home in the winter . Fixing a snare to a pole to catch Partridge out of the trees .

Our life's lessons are not something that can be taught in a school or university but requires on the ground reality .It is a lesson that also shows the hypocrisy of the system that many bow down to and follow without question . My dad did 3 years in federal prison for shooting a moose to feed the family for the winter .

We struggled and got by and were happy . I will never fear those days again .We didn't know and we didn't care . :>)
