That picture is so gorgeous, it almost doesn't look real!

Would you mind sharing where that is?

We are planning trips to Europe (though primarily Great Britain) in the coming years, and I would like to add the location in your photo to 'our list'..

How is one to live a moral and compassionate existence
when one is fully aware of the blood, the horror inherent in life,
when one finds darkness not only in one’s culture but within oneself?

If there is a stage at which an individual life becomes truly adult,
it must be when one grasps the irony in its unfolding
and accepts responsibility for a life lived in the midst of such paradox.

One must live in the middle of contradiction,
because if all contradiction were eliminated at once life would collapse.
There are simply no answers to some of the great pressing questions.
You continue to live them out,

making your life a worthy expression of leaning into the light.

AB your words ring strong and true.

Your strength is not in cohesion but in compassion. In respecting the unique individual.
I thought of this image reading your two last posts, thinking, how as you, we could all aspire to become a "Light House" to others.
You are truly inspiring.

You are a lighthouse, and we all call to each other across the dark and storm with what light we have.

Some may give us only shadow or let us crash on the treacherous rocks of their own pain, but even that can be a gift in the end, if we can see it.

Thank you for being a light on this thread, WIS!!

Did you read my Lighthouse poem? If not, you are amazingly in time with what I was saying!!

Lighthouse

Loved the pic. Thank you so much for all your kind words. We see what we are.

Thank you for the compliment AB, and so true we are a light for each other, no matter how little we think we may give.

No Hun I didn't see that, sorry, but it does show that synchronicity is present. I think when we act in sync, we have reached a miniscule level of compassion, touching infinity. Just a thought. No hard science just my heart speaking

Hugs all around.

Awww that was so pretty Lost.
On endless days at sea I wish I had, had the song to listen to. So gentle but strong.

Hi lg!
That pic was taken on the forest trails around Loch an Eilein, on the Rothiemurchus Estate near Aviemore in the Highlands of Scotland.

Awwww, what great pictures - and such a lovely family!!!

Thank you so much for all the information - I have put my husband to work researching for the itinerary!!

That whole area is so beautiful, I'm really looking forward to seeing it - actually, I'm excited to be going back to the Highlands altogether...

...we were there in 2015, and I loved it so much! On that trip we stayed just outside of Fort William and did day trips all around the area - Loch Ness at Fort Augustus, Eileen Donan Castle, Glenfinnan, Glencoe - we went to a lot of the sites used in the "Harry Potter" movies..

...unfortunately, I have just now been informed (by the aforementioned husband) that I had got the travel planning mixed up, and the Scotland trip isn't until 2019, as next year's trip is Norway...rats..

Oh well, more time to plan and anticipate

haha! It'll give you more time to anticipate & plan! (...and to ask your Scottish pals on here for wee hidden gems to discover! hint hint!! LOL) In saying that... you have already visited some really nice ones.

May the Light find you
In all the dark places
In all the time of wanting
In the curvature of sorrow
The clenched fist
The begging hand
The shattering
The breaking
The crushing
The taking

May the Light find you always
As I send it soaring out
From my heart to your heart
In the depths of shadowed Night

I am ground in God's mortar
Mixed with tears of holy water
And reformed like clay upon the spinning of time's wheel

I am remade hollow with desire
And transformed by molten fire
To be filled again with Life and made open and made real

Your words are raindrops upon a thirsty soul, Dear One.
Waves of recognition coming in with the tide.

A howl, a cry of gratitude I bring forth.

Thank you AB.

A dear friend of ours is in need of prayers.

I am not at liberty to say who.
But does it matter, if one of us suffer we are all at a loss.
So this is where I go AB when I feel we are at the end of the rope.
Let us tie some knots on that rope and reel her in.
