What kind of a supreme court do you want to leave your kids?

Center/left (by American standards of left/right) with a few originalists. I like the current balance a lot, minus Scalia... the guy was a loon, which isn't to say a conservative judge replacing him would be bad. However, I fully expect the court to move further right over the next decade. It's the left and center that are being replaced next, which means it probably won't go further left.

We know who Trump wants.

I wonder about that. Do we really know who he wants? He published his list of people he would like to see as justices, but Trump changes his mind all the time and hasn't really told the truth about anything. This is also one of those areas that falls outside the realm of foreign and domestic policy which he gave to the VP. Is there anything, anywhere to suggest Trump won't go in a totally different direction with his nominations?

If you go by their private positions, I would argue there's a good case to be made that Trump would pick more liberal judges than Clinton.

Even if it's a write in we need to vote for someone. Even if every normal person voted none, the candidates and their close associates would vote for them and then the electorate college would put them in.

Sadly our system lacks the ability to vote none of the above. It only has vote for someone or be irrelevant which is absurd in my opinion.

So vote for someone at least that can be voted in.

I vote 'none of the above' all the time!
It is going to have to get much worse (and that has much to do with 'voting') before it gets better, and the 'better' part has nothing at all to do with 'voting'.
I know too much to vote.

Right but we need to get a real none of the above that has teeth. One where if the majority don't like the candidates can force a redo. A vote that does and can do nothing is pointless.

If None of the Above was a REAL vote I'd be happy to vote it.

Which is, as I see it, all votes.
The corrupt greedy selfish insane politicians are in office because they reflect the reality of who and what the American people are!

Any 'votes' cast by anyone who suffers from Honesty and Ethics, and who votes for the same, will be frustrated every time with the results.
A waste of time.
I don't vote for any 'evil', lesser of or greater than!
None of them!

If None of the Above was a REAL vote I'd be happy to vote it.

So, it is the imaginary dance of the 'vote' that floats your boat, not the issues or even the questionable validity of voting...
It has been programmed into us rather deeply...

No it's the need something that has a real effect. Throwing hands in air and saying # it, does nothing.

I want a none of the above vote, that if enough people vote for will force a reset.

I want something with teeth, a vote that's a real threat and # you to the lesser evil candidates.

A very wise man once said, if you find something uncomfortable, if you don't like something, do 'nothing' for a sufficiently long period of time, and it will pass!"
My experience finds the Truth in that statement.
I see how the 'movie ends', and I have no need to attempt to 'change' anything, even if I could!

I understand the logical and political validity of your request.
'Register' your 'protest'. I get it.
Maybe you should vote on it. *__-
