Hello. As the handle indicates, I am swords. I have come here with the singular purpose of seeking others who have had similar experiences and perhaps gaining enough data to find the reason for the phenomenon I have been experiencing and possibly find a way to put an end to it. The information regarding that can be found in this thread right here.

I come from a background in occultism. I was raised an occultist. From a young age, my mother taught me various rituals, and I have been meditating often since I was five. I did not begin to actively use what she had taught me in the world until I was ten and used my will to get my family to move us someplace less haunted and awful. I mention haunted, because it's old hat. In fact, most things regarding spooky occult powers and angels/demons/whatever word you use for bodiless spirits are hats so old Aristotle could have worn them. So I'm pretty much a font of knowledge regarding those things, but it it is not without condition, because, you see, I am retired. I might do a favor for a friend here and there [keyword: friend] but if you're one of those people on the internet who needs your demons exorcised, I'm not your gal. You probably just need risperidone, tbh.

I'm here for information. I'm here to see if the last place on the internet could possibly yield an answer, because I have run out of options. So if you're IRL spooky af, and you know anything about people spontaneously and noticeably slipping into a nearby parallel universe, your cooperation would be appreciated immensely.

Hi swords! Welcome to ATS!

Have you listened to The Sword? I found my experience of their music rather agreeable. Hope you have a similar experience.

Have fun bashing about the boards. Looks like you know how to link and already made a thread so pretty good start!

Thanks.

I'm literally a professional internet user; I moderate a social network for a living. I'd be ashamed if I couldn't figure out which buttons to push.

I'm an IT guy myself with html skillz! But hey, there are always those days that come along and trip you up! I felt pretty good until I had one of those days here on ATS! Even Napoleon Dynamite would have called me an idiot!

Good like on the slipping answer!

Now if only I was clever enough to hide my smoking habit from my husband.

Out of curiosity. One occultist to another. What sort of path were you "brought up in"?

Primarily the breed of shamanism common in aging hippies circa 1990-1998. A little bit of vision questing, tarot cards, crystals, nature worship. Lots of meditation. I remember making a medicine bag. I personally converted to buddhism at age six and practiced until twelve when I just generally gave up on religion unless there was free food at the end. As a teenager, I expanded my practice by catching up on the classics of occultism, hermeticism, Golden Dawn, theosophy, Crowley's whole trip. Then I moved beyond that when I found it insufficient to my needs and have blazed my own path for some time. I have been dormant mostly for the past threeish years due to reasons which I would not disclose even under pain of death.

So would ecclectic (not an insult) be an accurate descriptor? I saw you mention Mr Wednesday (Odin) in another thread. Are you henotheistic, soft polytheitic, or similar? I am actually just curious, not looking to start something.
