Chit Chat has turned into the moster topic bazar of ATS. Since we have the ability to ad sub-forums to a forum, it makes sense to help you make sense of the senseless lack-of-sense that is invading your senses in Chit Chat.

What sub-forum topics makes sense to add? (Choose those that interest you, or add the topic you like to this thread.

As we continue to grow to epic proportions, this will help everyone find topics that make sense in this current senseless nonsense.

Am I making sense?

Hey William!

How about giving yourself a few days rest and just leave it alone...hmmm??

I know that your trying to make the most of the site but wearing your fingers to the bones on your keyboard ain't going to help!

Give us a few days and we'll get bak to u....in other words:

i've been thinking along the same lines, but I dont think any of the given choices would work. Lets just have more enforced guidlines to where posts should be, and maybe have all the personal stuff in the Introduction forums. Perhaps we could have a movie section, and a music section; or maybe we could just tell people that alien posts go into the Aliens & UFO board, not chit-chat.

You don't get it do you?

This is my rest!

Some people carve wood figures, others read, some do needlepoint, and some collect stamps. I muck about with websites... -sigh-

I thought we should have a movie section. After all we do have alot of humor in chit chat, and I dont think we need a new section for that. Not many people talk about sports in chit chat. Non-Conspiracy news is covered in the Current Events section. But alot of us do talk about movies.

Since before there were websites... really. I helped beta test the first version of Netscape (v0.9).

Today I'm one of those lame management-types who never get to have fun anymore.

Anything that is remotely related to another forum topic should stay in that forum topic. I have been thinking that the Paranormal section isn't clear enough. I think that many people end up writing about strange personal experiences they had and they end up putting them in the chit chat section because they don't think it relates to the paranormal. I think that the paranormal section should have any topic that relates to the unknown. Meaning strange dreams, strange feelings and even strange premonitions.

Also I agree that anything related to the personal that isn't really strange or unknown but just personal, should go into the introduction section. As for how to split the chit chat well how about this:

Two sections:

One related to explainations and propostions and one related to questions and inquiries. Would that work???

What do you think???

William,
I think it would be a good idea to add a news section to the chit chat, since the Xgate section is pretty inactive. And most tend to post links to news articles in the other recent events and war on terror forum anyway.

That list pretty much does it. So long as they are "sub-forums".

Sounds organized, say isn't it a bit too late for spring cleaning? I just hope the new Mods dont become overwelmed, but I see it keeping many occupied for some time. I wanted to vote for all of the above, so hopefully a Mod can read this in time and add that option before too many vote!

Just a thought.

How about condensing your ideas into a few sub-forums???

- Movies & Television

- Music & Books

- Non-conspiracy News & Sites

- Humor/Games/Quizzes

If you get the urge to discuss sports, see my sig.

Just a suggestion.

I have to say (because I am Dean Witter, when I speak.. people listen
) I like PA's suggestion. Break up ChitChat but into broad subsections. If it is broken down into every little subcategory I fear overcompartmentalization.. within books, you could have Horror, Biography, Sci-Fi, Fantasy.. It could get too unwieldy.
My half cent worth.

How about just putting movies, sport, music, hobbies and quizzes under the heading Leisure and Interests?

We've already got a place for news (i.e. Current Events)... Just make one additional forum called "Entertainment", that encompasses movies, music, tv, and then just reinforce to post in the correct forum.

Just remember do not subdivide it too much. If you do so, people might only go to the area that interests them and miss out on some quality threads. Music and Sports are obvious categories, however.

Sounds great, I'll vote in favor.

The silliness, of course! 'Twould make a drastic change in the confusing strangeness of it all to make a spot simply for silly spammy posts.
