I finally managed to figure out photobucket. Have an image there. Trying to get my avatar to stick in the Edit Profile section, but am having no success.

Do you have to use the ATS upload for an avatar? Which it says is disabled right now.

I spent 100 points buying 10k of space in the ATS store to see if that would help, still no luck.

Sorry if I am asking stupid questions, but I did notice that other people used photobucket to make their avatars show up by looking at the properties of their picture.

Thanks for any help.

no you dont need the members upload page to use an avatar. i personally use a website called imageshack which is a good site.

you should just have the paste the url in the bit where it say image url and then press the edit profile button.

The link Intrepid posted is a super resource. It should be just a matter of putting the URL for the image, provided by photobucket, into the space provided in the profile form. Is it under the max size for an avatar?

GIF and JPEG file formats only with a maximum dimension of 160 pixels wide, by 320 pixels tall. File sizes are not to exceed 75k, and animated GIF's are allowed. (physical size can extend up to 400 pixels tall for images under 50k in file size)

Don't forget to reset your timezone when you are done with the settings page.

That link shows uploading it in the ATS upload first, which is down now.

I have been going straight to the Edit Profile and pasting the URL from photobucket where it says Avatar URL, then hitting Edit profile.

No worky

Oh my

I think I know what I did wrong now, it was on Photobucket side. I copied and pasted where it said "Tag" instead of "Url".

Thanks for all your quick responses!
