Do you understand that if a man who has 2 billion dollars handy, gives a homeless man a fifty, that the act of charity involved is LESS than if a man who only has twenty British pounds to his name, buys that same homeless man dinner?

Please don't mistake me.

Donald Trump is NOT Winston Churchill by any stretch, but there is this similarity - By all accounts, Churchill was sort of a plain spoken SOB. I don't think there are too many who can argue though that he was the right man in the right place at the right time for all that the UK is trying to shove him down the PC memory hole today precisely because he was a plain spoken SOB the rest of the time.

Obviously, your job is not at all dependent necessarily on your ability to make nice in all the right ways. If Trump can get results in ways that matter for most of us, then what difference will the rest of it make?

Yep. One coin with two faces. More of what you point out above has become clear to me with Clintons two public statments, one about the 'deplorables' and the other about Sanders supporters living in their granmothers basement. Neither was a wise thing to say yet, say them she did. I'ts like she offers up crap to balance out the crap of Trump. Neither offers me any hope for the next 4 years, and as these four years might be the most dramatic in the history of Western Civ, I'm guessing it really does not matter who wins. Who's to say that the man who had dinner bought doesn't cross the street trying to scavenge dessert, causes a car accident killing the children of some military commander. This same commander decides to use his judgement in building a case against a nation based on dubious evidence - unleash the dogs of war -
