LOL I GOTCHA,

Saturns moon MIMAS looks just like "death star" !

Summary (Jul 27, 2004): Cassini's tour of Saturn's remarkable system of 31 moons has taken the probe past one of the ringed planet's natural wonders: Mimas. The 250 mile wide satellite suffered a catastrophic impact that opened a wound one third of its diameter and nearly split the moon in half. Today, Mimas bears a striking resemblance to the Star Wars' Death Star, which wrecked havoc on planets using its laser-focusing dish. In place of the laser dish, Mimas carries a crater peak the size of Mount Everest

I wonder if Lucas knew in 70's about it or just a wierd coincky dink.

Isnt this cool, imagine the reception on that dish....

Then you should know better how it is...

So it might be safe to say lucas saw an image of this moon and made death star in its likeness.

interesting post do you notice that it the deathstar does'nt have a bump in the middle hrm very interesting though i doubt any nearby et's would live on the surface with temperatures too cold they would have to be subterainian now this definatly looks like an artifical thingumy makes sense to build most of it underground though maybe what were seeing is the top half of a much larger structure

.
Star wars happened in a galaxy long ago and far away.

That is just a burned out relic Death Star that got caught in Saturn's orbit.

Never seen that comparison before. Lots of fun.
