But what if the alternative story is less honest and promotes a more nefarious agenda?

I'll decide that on my own. The nefarious agenda tends to be the loudest voice, imo.

In the land before interwebs it was the only voice (TV, Newspapers and Radio). Now they shout louder than ever and i see right through them.

Most people won't put forth the effort to become more informed consumers of media. Instead they'll just look for sources that do a better job of catering to their preconceived worldview.

Well let's see, every other day there seems to be some sort of anti American story coming out of sources like RT, while there seems to be very little anti Russian stories from the MSM.

Seems one is shouting much louder than the other in that regard.

And before you say it, no I'm not a fan of MSM. But also certainly not a fan of the likes of Presstv or RT.

I honestly don't understand why so many people are so much less concerned with foreign state media being pushed on Americans.

The one and only thing that's important concerning wikileaks...is...if it brings the truth or not.

Who is behind it...is of no importance to me and millions like me.

They all 'fan', trick is to read between their counter intel. Then find some amateur video, read some comments form ordinary people about it.

I see through that too. The religious agenda, geo political agenda, misguided and minion followers of them.

I look to forensics, show me the shrapnel holes, the bomb craters.

Just to add some additional context from the last few days. Assange was reportedly going to release material today. Assange and WL clearly let people believe that they had a release being announced today and that didn't happen.

What did happen?

People forget not long ago, Wikileaks was also leaking sensitive information about our military operations over there that actually put a lot of operations and their people's lives in danger. They were basically hacking our national security system, and were public enemy number one back then by the same people who now sing his praises because he is going after Clinton now. They can't see how much partisan B.S. is at play here.

Frankly, I've never cared for Assange or Wiki-leaks because he really is one of those whiny complete anti-Capitalist Socialist liberals who believes the U.S. is the root of all evil, blah blah blah.

On top of it, the leaks are pretty damned disappointing, considering the possibilities that could really be dug up on the Clinton and our government in general. About the only thing the emails were useful for were getting a first hand personal look into what a contemptuous, sociopathic bitch she is, but I didn't need the emails, just her history, for proof of that.

I knew Assange was going after the Democrats here, but I did not know he was also attacking the UK Labour party. Now THAT is interesting, because the UK Labour party, on top of being left leaning, also supports Britain remaining in the E.U., and the E.U. in general. Which Putin has obvious interest in seeing weakened or dissolved, and a fully successful Brexit might be what he's gunning for. So from that angle, it does tend to add a little more weight to the idea of Assange and Wikileaks working for Putin.

To the OP - Russia has dirt on Clinton that makes these emails seem like nothing. These are nation states with an army of professionals, not some tweener hacktivists.

Hillary's deleted emails can be found online in Romania and I am sure other countries btw.

Why cant there be an Australian connection too ? Just asking, i mean , American politics is well known to be corrupt around the world. Not Just Russia , and certainly not a group of try hard pecker heads like Wikileaks.

Comprimised? Don't know, but I don't think so. Wiki-leaks are still the same dirtbags they have always been. It's just now, because Wikileaks leaked stuff that favored them, the right is totally willing to look the other way on all the other crimes they have committed against the U.S. in the past.

Julian Assange has never made any secret of his agenda. He hates the U.S., hates the West, and his ultimate goal is to ruin and destabilize it all.
