Ok, here is where I am hoping ATS bares it's fangs and all you great minds can take this information and come up with an answer.

There's a game, called Elite Dangerous. A space based MMORPG type thing that has me hooked.

Well, for ages now, there have been hints about "something big" Most of the info points to the Formadine Rift out towards one of the spiral alms of our galaxy.

Now, I played the old Elite games and I think it's loosely related to an alien race known as Thargons. That's pure conjecture, though. So don't let that skew your judgement.

A lot of people have been working on deciphering the various clues that are being leaked and the basic story is spread between novels set in the game verse and in game announcements on the news service.

There are a ton of people trying to find the answer to this riddle, but frankly, as impressive as some of their work appears, I absolutely know that the combined might of ATS ought to put up the sort of show that is needed to solve this mystery and take the story onwards.

Now I know this is just a game, but the conspiracy is a very real part of it, and what better way to relax for a few hours than unwrapping what will prove to be a genuine conspiracy?

Here's a link to get you started.

forums.frontier.co.uk...

Any questions or comments? post below or send me a pm. I am heading out towards the rift later and it's a fair journey away, nothing I can't do in a night's play time. So if you ant me to look in a particular place, just say where. (The galaxy is accurately mapped, so if you are an astronomer, sending me the name of the star even if your map is a real, astronimical one rather than the in game one, should work).

And if any of you are players on xbox and want to wing up...Give me a shout.

Add me on Xbox One, Shaz McNasty. There is a space in it.

I never had anyone to play with, but as an old time Eve: Online player, I really want to get into Elite Dangerous. With knowledge of a conspiracy, I'm in.

If you really want to hook me to something that much complicated and obscure as possible conspiracy incorporated inside a third grade video game you would have to present something more at least to me. Just by reading your brief introduction and cussing the link, I cannot get... what in the depths of Jotonheim, we need to point out attention to. What to seek? Code, script, allegories, hidden messages, deserves with axes, mantis aliens... what? And what for? Do you claim that the answers we could find inside have more value than their artistic expression, or it's just the game? And why there is no zombies in the script, people on 2016 can't sleep properly without watching at least two zombie apocalypse movies. We want our zombies!!!

I dare say, old chap, this is not a "real conspiracy" as you maintain.
At least, I'm not convinced that you have chosen the proper forum for your thread.

Ok, you may not like the game, I do and have been playing it a fair bit, which is how I came across this mystery.

The short version is that a legendary pilot went out there long ago and discovered "something". Her mind as wiped, but she left some clues around the place and also a recording in which she stated that all of the factions in control of the galaxy ere trying to hide this truth.

It ties in with another character, from one of the books who abandoned her place as a high ranking peer to go off in a ship herself. In the game that character has now been charged with attempted assassination of a rival.

I appreciate that there is a heck of a lot of info about this, that is why I posted the link, Page one of that forum thread has a summary of all known data relating to this story and is continually updated as new info flows in.

Ah, but it is real, in that there is something being hidden that awaits discovery.

You could be right about the forum choice, I just went for what I felt was the best fit.

Sounds like advertising for the next chapter-- "Formadine Rift Conundrum". So when it comes out everyone will buy it.

No, it's already out there.
They have a ton of clever little things such as the voyager probes that you can go an visit right where they should be in 3300ish AD.

There are some sizeable groups already searching, but I figured some of the folks here would be able to get to the heart of the mystery a bit quicker.

You just have been.
:-D

It's actually better than I thought it would be when I was lusting after the idea years ago.

Get yourself to Lave. Pick up your sidewinder and 100cr and join in the rift quest once you've got at least a Cobra.

No apology necessary. Not everyone is into games.
You don't really need to be to untangle the gordian knot of the mystery though, just a grade A conspiracy theorist.

Yah, okay. I pretty much stopped playing video games when they stopped taking quarters...

I'll stick to what I know, promise.

On a side note, have you read Ready Player One? You'll love the references in there, everything from Joust to Zork.

Just a note to say, my lovely phone altered the word Formidine to Formadine.

It really should read Formidine Rift

Am interesting update.

The following message appeared which relates to the constellations of Perseus, Casseopeia and Camelodarpalis .

These lie quite close to the Heart And Soul Nebulae which have also been referenced and everything is broadly on or about the line drawn from Riedquat through Reorte and extended.

The message is thus.

OTSEAFOTSEAF

'The vain queen rides a giraffe that remembers her daughter's hero.'

It was an automatic signal from the ship of a moderately famous commander who allegedly crossed the rift and discovered something before being mind wiped.
The ship's name translates as my heart and soul so again refences the nubula.

The EAFOTS string also could relate to a nearby series of stars.

I'm at a loss though. My crypto knowledge ends with a Caesar shift cypher.

Travelled about 2000ly now. 10k to go.

Scuttlebutt so far seems to indicate Casseopeia A may be special in some way as it isn't mapped and even though it went supernova, there should be something there.
