I don't accept a lot of things said in the alternative information sphere because it is mostly unscientific bunk. I don't care much for what the news anchor has to say. I care about what is verifiable.

I feel your pain, but eventually there comes a time when most conspiracies have been covered. In that case ATS would simply become an archive.

Everything right now is politics...and i literally mean everything.

Come December it will all be over with the bickering and such and then maybe ATS and every other site in the world can go back to whatever it was before.

I've been around since 2008.

ATS ALWAYS goes nuts during the summer months, during school breaks, and especially during elections.

Invariably, complaints about the quality of posts follows. Of course, the best remedy is to simply wait it out and force the discussions you want to have.

The people who are the problem are the "headline readers" who don't go far beyond the headline before running their ignorant little typing fingers and subjecting the rest of us to their vapid stupidity.

The mainstream media are propaganda and brainwashing outlets, no doubt about it.

Lamestream media sources are cited when they finally acknowledge something thats been discussed in the "alternative"/truth media.

Take for example water fluoridation.

The dangers of fluoride have been discussed in the alternative media for years.

So when we see a lamestream article acknowledges some of what we've been saying (even a partial acknowledgment), we view it as a victory.

That "it" (whatever it may be) can no longer be ignored.

I've lurked for a handful of years, I know the trend. This year is a bit exceptional though with the extreme influx of teens that are 'prolific' and the insanity called the mandela effect, the bathroom disparities, to the crazy ass US elections, this has been an interesting year, and one hell of a way to finish it off.

We have 100 forums to choose from, only a few fall into the category that seem to interest you. I know what your getting at, the ATS mystery type. The stuff conspiracies are made of, the not so mainstream stories, the danger, the mind bender stuff. And yea, instead we are flooded with political debates, prognostications, lies, truths, hates, likes and everything in between.

Yes it's tiring, all the parrot news. But occasionally a member brings something to the table astounding in content, the real ATS stuff of mystery or enlightenment ........or.....

I don't know if you do..? But try going straight to ~ New up at the top. You can bypass a lot of undesirable dialogue and filter through your interests. Don't be so forlorn, we need you here...... on ATS

You're on a website that is here because the msm does not want to talk about the topics we discuss in an unbiased fashion. So we have this website to do just that debate and talk about things with an open mind.

I think I know what you mean.

However, when making a thread, one needs sources.

I don't want to use 'crazy sources' and I know MSM soures are slanted. I often seek out new sources, but they are often scarce.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with doubting the mainstream media or that it was wrong for people to want a different source.

Different isn't always better. Agreed? Doubting the mainstream media shouldn't translate to blindly believing everything that is comes from outside of the mainstream media.

We may think about things like this a bit more than, say, my mum...but I wouldn't distance yourself too much from the MSM watchers because, unless you have an insider source of information, a real one, not YouTube videos...then, you know as much as the people you say you are different from.
