Do you remotely see how useless and meaningless the above sentence is? It says nothing. Sometimes, I think, people don't know enough to know how much they don't know.

Trans genders are people who have determined they are incapable of continuing in their present state, or to do so grossly compromises who they are mentally and emotionally.

This subject has been discussed at length over the last couple of years right here on ATS. Really excellent threads, with transgendered people explaining their histories and thoughts from the heart. If you wanted to actually learn something, and heighten your capacity for understanding and compassion, (not to mention improving your knowledge base) you could use the search function and go back and read them. You might then be able to comment in an intelligent and knowledgeable way, instead of simply popping off comments that only serve to show a clear lack of regard for understanding the world you live in.

That depends... who decides on the definition of "woman?"

* Very few people ever undergo karotype testing, so you can't exclude people based on chromosomes unless you spend the hundreds of billions it would cost to test everyone. Beware also of the incredible can of worms you'll open when you inadvertently out hundreds of thousands of people that didn't know they had any sort of chromosomal anomaly.

* People can assume many things, but who has proof of genitals? Anyone demanding to panty check strangers to use a restroom is a bigger threat to society than any transgender person.

If a person says they're female, they live like us everyday and face the same challenges, who am I to classify them as something other than what they claim to be? Such is not my call to make.

I'm in my 3rd year transitioning, and I'm on hormones. The first year was just talking to therapists.

Nothing about it is very fast. Removing hair permanently down there takes a year alone. I've been at it for 8 months, and the Surgery is still 8 away.


If you have no job and are rich, it would still take 2 years at minimum to transition. I am not sure how much Caitlyn has started but he could be over a year out from being physically female if he hasn't started electrolysis.

Still sounds like a technicalities to hurt feelings.

Your reproductive systems do not make you who you are.

Also Sex doesn't determine your ability to reproduce alone. It's been know for a while Females can take DNA from one egg and place it into another to fertilize it. This is still a reproductive system and part of Biology, even if it isn't your default "Sex" reproduction system.

The same can be said about sterile males or females. Nothing about their reproductive systems make them "more" male or female, and the title is little more than a social construct.
