Do you deny the STATE has been in charge for the last 60 years ?
Yes, I do. The state didn't start doing much about the environment until about 40 years ago. And then it took a lot of people making noise for anything to happen.

Whats the issue ?
I stated the issue.

Other than hypochondriac politico's running around acting like nazi's claiming the 'science' is settled?
Oh. You mean the energy companies who run around acting like nothing is wrong. Like the industries that said "Hey, there's plenty of water in those rivers. The little bit of stuff we dump in them is no problem! Those dead fish, that stream that's on fire? Don't worry about that. Smog? That ain't us."

Oh that same old song and dance.

Why yes it's them evil corporations running around trying to kill people!

Time to change the station.

A more ACCURATE explanation is mans urbanization.

Ya know auctioning off farmland to build mc mansions, and other homes with really big lawns to mow.

Ya know the FACT that millions of farmland keeps disappearing everyday.

Heres a fun factoid.

Our calculations show that number to be in excess of 36,000 lbs. of carbon dioxide per acre!

msue.anr.msu.edu...

Want to save the planet ?

How bout tearing down homes, and planting corn, and other crops that 'EAT' co2.

Or plant a tree.

Or just get some FACTS instead of pushing the SAME OLD political agenda.

'Corporations' evil!

Millions of what? Acres? each day? Really? 365+ million acres a year?
Well, we do plant a lot of millions of acres. But ...

www.agweb.com...

But it's good you acknowledge that CO2 is a problem.

'Corporations' evil!
I didn't say that, did I?

IF it is, and I say IF.

That has more to do with 7 billion PEOPLE breathing, and passing gas, and their urban sprawls.

Big bad evil business ?

Not so much.

No, breathing is carbon neutral and methane breaks down in the atmosphere.
Urban sprawl does tend to lead to increased combustion of fossil fuels though.

Tell that to the astronauts of Apollo 13 that nearly DIED from that 'neutrality'.

The Earth will be fine. There have been plenty of times in the history of Earth that the CO2 level has been much much higher than it is now. And temperatures have been higher. You might remember the age if dinosaurs when normal bracken ferns were as tall as trees, since, you know, plants kind of like CO2. More food for everyone. Great news for vegans.

The gnashing of teeth here is over climate CHANGE that might not be beneficial for Homo sapiens.

Given people's self-loathing of their own species, one would think that would be a good thing. Fewer people is what a lot of you want. Well?? Here's a grand opportunity. Never let a crisis go to waste.

How dramatic! Are you seriously telling us that the level of CO2 in the Apollo 13 capsule was ANYWHERE near equivalent to an increase in the planet's CO2? Seriously? How about researching those figures and showing us how a comparison makes any sort of sense at all?

Ozone is pimarily made by electrical discharge in O2, or lightning, creating the O3 bond.

In the lower atmosphere it's produced primarily by sunlight.
In the upper atmosphere it's produced by sunlight.

It is ALWAYS produced by sunlight in the atmosphere as a whole with this equation UV sunlight + NO2 + long chain hydrocarbons = 03. There are some electric generation of ozone in the lower atmosphere (Troposphere) to agree with your post. Ozone is very reactive and oxidizes metals rapidly. It is unstable in the upper atmosphere due to the high energy UV and is constantly oxidizing releasing oxygen atoms. The ozone breaks into 02 and a free oxygen atom and then any spare free atoms reform ozone.

Tesla even had a patent on it......

On NOX? What for?

Atmospheric burning of nitrogen, i don't know what for, but i know that nowadays it's a time & energy consuming process used in chemical plants, i worked them for 5 years.....NOX used to be used as laughing gas a mild narcotic sedative used by dentists, too much of it leads to coma & respiratory failiure.

N2O, Nitrous Oxide is laughing gas. NOx is a by product of combustion in a Nitrogen atmosphere.

There are those who say yes, but they mean you, of course, not them.

Breathing is carbon neutral. You exhale carbon which came from the air. Burning fossil fuels is not carbon neutral.

Of course, if you stop breathing you will eliminate your carbon footprint.

Wait what? I see you missed something obvious?! Not often on scientific threads do you miss anything imho. Carbon that we have eaten, not breathed in, is combined in the blood with oxygen to form CO2. We are not carbon neutral. Skinny people would consume less carbon and vice versa.

Greetings, Network Dude,

The "esteemed" noble peace prize winner, Al Gore, and the Democratic party have long blamed US citizens for man-made global warming and climate change, even though China officially admitted to causing massive air pollution.

Those of you who personally know Al Gore, or who are reporters, you need to ask Al Gore and his followers, why they omit the real problem, or future problem ---> Brazil !!!

Brazil promulgates massive global scale destruction of the Amazon Jungle, and no US elected official dares to offend Brazil by even questioning the Amazon rain forrest devastation.

Why not send Al Gore to Brazil to browbeat their government, and they have to listen to him because he won the Noble Peace Prize, was a presidential candidate, and wrote a book. But ohhhh nooooo, can't do that, only US citizens are to blame (never mind the EPA successes in pollution reduction).

There's 7.5 to 8 billion people on earth. Yellowstone National Park has 3500 square miles....not that anyone would want to....but we could put every human on earth in a 3 foot by 3 foot square in the park and use the rest of the world for farming. ..you can put 3,097,600 people in a square mile, if you do the math, I'm sure you can see what I'm getting at...there's ways to do things without making the sky fall...Oh there's not enough land there's not enough of this.... there's too much of that...I'm sure most want clean water, clean air, just not..so much the sky is falling. ...the sky is falling. ....

Since Neo has so far ignored my request, allow me to elucidate.

The amount of CO2 in the ATMOSPHERE has just crossed the 400 ppm threshold: 400 parts per million. The amount of CO2 that would lead to death is 40,000 ppm: 40,000 parts per million. Here's a chart. Indeed, CO2 levels have been as high as 5,000 ppm in the past and were at 2,000 ppm during the Triassic and Jurassic periods (Age of the Dinosaurs.) In fact, the CO2 levels have been higher in the past during ice ages. CO2 levels are not the ONLY driver of climate. One big one is the output of the Sun. AFAIK we can't control that one.

Do you get it now? Comparing atmospheric CO2 to toxic level in an enclosed environment is silly in the extreme. It's just fear-mongering. Shame.

And nothing whatsoever to do with the topic.

Sorry someone wasn't getting enough attention.

My comment was in response to 'carbon neutral'.

We exhale it.

Plants 'eat' it.

Carry on.

And then there is the WHOLE carbon base lifeforms on this planet that wouldn't be here WITHOUT IT.

Carbon forms the key component for all known life on Earth. Complex molecules are made up of carbon bonded with other elements, especially oxygen, hydrogen and nitrogen, and carbon is able to bond with all of these because of its four valence electrons

en.wikipedia.org...

But I digress.

We're ALL gonna die if we 'don't' do something.

I wonder who died, and made man. GOD.
