Jose Fernandez, Miami Marlins MLB Star Pitcher dead at 24

Miami Marlins young star pitcher, Jose Fernandez, who defected from Cuba to rise to the top of his game as an MLB starter, died from a boating accident early this morning.

From all accounts, a great guy and great teammate, with, barring injury, a long HOF-caliber career ahead of him. Left behind a pregnant girlfriend, he was openly very much looking forward to being a father.

I was just reading about this and from I what I read he was quite the young man. I'm sure a tragic loss for his family, friends and team mates. RIP.

Ha! What a great moment! Those kind of fun moments at the pro level are why I still love baseball add much as I do. Just a single example of one of the guys who truly loves and enjoys the game. Nice find & post BB!

Saw this happen live... being a butthurt Pirates fan. I love baseball.
The boat crashed at the begining of a Jetty( Government Cut ). The entrance of Miami. As a fan of the game, Roberto Clemente chimed in..😑
