Confused about avatars and backgrounds

Right... you need the large image in your background space and then the transparent image in your avatar space.

This is where I'm confused...where/how do I get a transparent image? My avatar is pasted into the mini background as said above, I have nothing pasted into the avatar field . And nothing is showing up on the left

Ah, I sent you one in my post...there's a big long empty space between words that is actually a photo.

Rereading your post don't copy and paste.
Try to click on your photo in the image gallery and then at the top click on the little box. The box on the far right after you click on the photo.


You'll want to click on the torso to put the 'transparent' image in.

Copying and pasting the links and urls never worked for me.

NVM! It looks as if you've had success, now you can just tweak it how you want. Now that you have the process down.

Thanks! You'd think your avatar would plug into the avatar field...instead it's a mini background, No wonder I've been having so many issues. I've got the invisible GIF in my messages now, but out of curiosity, where did you/would people find it? I kept hearing about it but no mention where to get it

I believe I got it from the avatar creations thread or

a member there messaged it to me. That was awhile back but if you look in that thread, I'm pretty sure it's there.

Oh and you are more than welcome!

Perhaps one day you can help me figure out how to stop my avatar from repeating on longer replies.

I was a 'newer' member once also. A lot of things here still don't make a lot of sense.

Seems to me in researching this whole thing that I read if you make the height of your avatar a bit longer than the limit, it would simply cut off the very bottom and not repeat. Haha with all the trouble I've been having take that with a grain of salt

It's a simple fix, but it involves modifying your mini profile image to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 187X1200 px.

Stop by the Avatar creations thread and someone will be happy to do it for you

I can probably do it in paint, just don't want to over-distort the pic. And I rarely post walls of text where it could be an issue
