That would only be great for the US, and bad for Germany's economy. I doubt very seriously that Germany would want to see that happen....

That is what happened in my Island PR. when they started to closed the bases and later Roosvelt Road and Vieques the people thought that the Island will go down the hill with the lost.

Get what, most of the bases were turn into low income housing and that help the poor families.

Viegues is on the future for touristic development, and Roosvelt Road is to be turn into a recreational camp ground.

Guess what nothing goes to waste, is always life after the after the US troops leave.

The parts of germany that have US Army bases however are no viques island. The pressence of the US army in germany inputs a trememdous amount of cash into the system. No doubt that germany will still function well enough, but why throw out all that cash?

edit

By 'no viques' I mean that porto rico has a natural advantage when it comes to tourism, being something of a tropical paradise, as compared to germany. Also, while german girls are more than willing to be humiliated for fun, there's just something about latinas that keeps the tourists comming. Er, I hadn't intended a pun, but might as well run with it.

If any country tried to arrest the head of a U.S. department or the President, it would be considered a declaration of war. I would support the use of nuclear weapons against any country that attempted that, even Canada or Germany etc.

People like you are helping this country go to hell. Thanks for the hard work.
Germany? If our ideals in the USA would really be what we claim they are, we would have taken Rumsfeld to court ourselves; Cheeney would have been in jail already for all the money he made dealing with Saudi Arabia and knowingly let them off the hook when everybody in Washington was aware of their support to islamic terrorists.
And Bush would have beem impeached right after the war against Iraq.
