It's conscience, compassion, and being in a position to speak out.

Or they just do it for the attention, which they seem to bask in. I don't see any of them giving up their privileged life style to go live in the hood and suffer right along with the people they're standing up for. I was asked by college students what my preferred gender pronouns are. I didn't answer and was asked again. I answered, "I am a male and don't conform to...that". They got triggered and said to be respectful. Not having their opinion is disrespectful. Hilarious.

Opportunities should be equal, that much i agree with.
Justice in terms of wealth, and privilidges? Arent those things earned?

I defend the people of Flint, so thats a good case for social justice. Not a bunch of spoiled brats who talk about micro agressions all day and run to safe spaces when they cant handle opposition, I have my lines well defined.

When social justice becomes a witch hunt, then you should be worried, they start to see things in black and white..

One wonders ... if you are offended by the fact that someone is offended ... and you fight against that ... does that make you a SJW once removed?

They do happen and do matter. But more often than not you hear more about memes like Harambe making people feel bad, and or people crying over imagined slights than the things you're talking about that actually matter. That's the issue.

You've got on one side, people trolling for reactions from the more extreme SJW crowd, and then that extreme going nuts over bull#, meanwhile the real problems are ignored in the background while all the nonsense takes center stage.

This is why these people on both sides are a problem, they are being used to keep us from being able to see and deal with those very real problems.

The first group is asserting control over their environment in line with their ideology. In the examples I watched they were not making gentle appeals to reason as their method of communication, but instead were using rhetoric to shame their target, while signaling their virtue to the perceived audience. A basic strategy of social manipulation, which requires little personal knowledge or articulation.

The other group are presumably seeing individuals with no actual authority, trying to control them in a crude manner, and having the typical emotional reaction. They need to take control of their emotional response and use any resulting passion in a constructive way, but the humans in both groups are rarely rational, and the jumbled mess is the result.

The only danger I see it that people invested with actual authority are seemingly taking the side of the loudest shrill voice (presumably due to human nature of taking the path of least resistance in social situations) and by doing this they are ironically causing injustice, on a local scale.

The audience watching (us) are then all feeding our confirmation bias, and the sad story will go on and on.

Anyone, anywhere, anytime that is trying to control the actions and beliefs of others is an authoritarian.

Red, blue, purple or green.

Authoritarianism is the antithesis of liberty.

SJWs are not limited to any philosophy, party or position.

Anyone who cannot accept that others have a different opinion from theirs is an SJW.
