That would be funny to hear lol.

Too bad no pics came out. Maybe run them through some filters and see if there's anything?

Where in Mass? I love Rockport, a lovely seaside town. Yes Newport is the most famous place in Rhode Island to visit. I haven't been in many years, but gorgeous place!

Nice seeing you in the shed!

LOL! No scary tours at Christmas. Zazz is coming to R.I. in Christmas.

Boston is probably a couple of hours away from me or less, depending on traffic. New England is full of haunted places.

Hay Rider, I have a really good imagination, but isn't the picture missing?
I would like to see the vessel.

When you say crewed, what does that imply? Vacation, work and what was your function, what was it like?
Just curious, I love tales.

OMG, how could I forget Salem???????? YES!!!!!! Perfect!

Haven't been in years. I have a gorgeous velvet cloak and a historical gown and top from there. Sadly, only the cloak still fits. Awesome shops and museums, things to see and do. Oh yes!

Well, there are plenty of Sheep hereabouts.....

Gordi. Not that I take offense, but your tone made me suspicious. There was a devilish look in your eye.
Are you insinuating, my friend, that the good members of The Shed are mere sheep?
You know I appreciate a healthy argument so please don't hold back. And best wishes to your "Home Alone Party" I agree with Lattre protein will improve your stamina.

Cheers (you are probably well "pickled" by now, so sleep well.

Thank you for asking Sugar Muffin.

I have four days off so I am silly with joy.
Four days I have a full itinerary, that includes slouching on the couch surrounded by all my "babies" and my Honey, doing absolutely nothing.
I can't wait to get in my garden that has been so neglected. And I want to make a fabulous Scare Crow to sit on my garden bike. It held flowers all summer.
I want to clean my chimney, hang the winter curtains, sort clothes and paint the rest of the windows and take naps in the middle of the morning. And watch a movie straight out of bed.

Please don't call me wise, I am so far from.
Hugs in Bundles

Hi Sweety!
It was 39 years ago. I was living and working in Lahaina Maui , and saw a flyer posted that a skipper was looking for crew members to help operate , race, maintain and live aboard a beautiful famous antique racing Schooner. It sounded good to me. The Schooner was far to large for the harbor, so it was parked out in Lahaina bay. I hopped on my surfboard
( Rick James Long board) and paddled out to meet the captain. He liked me and showed me around. It was an absolutely beautiful old yacht. The decks were Teak, mahogany trim, velvet cabins, brass, etc.
This boat had been built for President Teddy Roosevelts Nephew in the 1930s
The Skippers plan was to get a crew of half men, and half women and set sail around the world, stopping to gather food or work as needed, but no money was necessary to go. We mended sails, sanded decks, and sailed the boat in races, and we won!

schoonermistress.wordpress.com...

The deck appears to have a white sealer coating now. I believe that was all solid teak back then. It had an arc like design in the wood grains

That is a wonderful adventure, please give us more details.
39 years ago, so you were a very young teen ager?
What seas did you sail in?
What does "half women, half men" mean? That there were equal amounts of both genders? I wonder why?
Being on a sail boat in high surf is a challenge. Did you sleep in hammocks or bunks.
The cook must have been a genius.
Those are the little details that make for a grand tale.

Wis, love the happy dance cat!!

Your itinerary sounds absolutely wonderful! A well deserved 4 day vacation for sure!

My Father was a Navy man and loved the sea.
