Iran may have received up to $33.6B in cash, gold payments from US
freebeacon.com... “Between January 2014 and July 2015, when the Obama administration was hammering out the final details of the nuclear accord, Iran was paid $700 million every month from funds that had previously been frozen by U.S. sanctions. “ The math at this point is 19 months multiplies by $700,000,000.00 is
$3,300,000,000.00!
But were not done yet pouring U.S. held money into terrorist Iran. “A total of $11.9 billion was ultimately paid to Iran, but the details surrounding these payments remain shrouded in mystery, according to Mark Dubowitz, executive director at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies.” financialservices.house.gov...
Then the U.S. payed Iran $1.7 billion in cash prior to the release of several U.S. hostages earlier this year.
“In July, the Associated Press cited U.S. officials who estimated that Iran ‘brought home less than $20 billion.’ Were these funds repatriated to Tehran in cash or in gold and precious metals? Through the formal financial system? Or through some combination?” Dubowitz asked in his testimony before the House Financial Services Committee.” The former is found on pages 7 and 8 from the “ congressional Testimony: Foundation for Defense of Democracies. House Financial Services Committee. Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations. financialservices.house.gov...
Well, we now know where Obama will live after his raping of America.

If that was Iranian money that has been frozen all these years then all got was their money back, as they should have done a very long time ago.

It's not American money, I'm of the understanding it's their money that was "frozen" with all the sanctions.

You even mention frozen funds, wowzers what a fail.

Why unfreeze the money and give it back to them now? Did Iran threaten to kick our butt? or maybe put our hostages on trial?

The money actually came from US taxpayer funds.

the terms of the settlement, Iran will be paid a $400 million balance, plus an additional $1.3 billion in interest from the taxpayer fund, according to a State Department official.

Senior officials from the State Department and White House National Security Council confirmed to the Washington Free Beacon that to settle outstanding legal disputes with Iran, the administration tapped into the Treasury Department’s Judgment Fund, a federal account that has been used by the executive branch to settle international legal claims.

The headline isn't lying....they did "receive" it.

But its grossly misleading to the point that it completely discredits the publication. And that, my friends, if why I ignore the news.

Its their money. Frozen by the US for reasons that are debatable.

This thread frustrates me immensely.

No.

What you are reading is that US taxpayers paid interest to Iran on the seized funds. Thats right...Uncle Sam seizes money to play politics, then leaves us holding the bag.

It came from taxpyer finds. I provided proof.

The assets remain frozen under international sanctions.

It was an INTERNATIONAL decision and agreement to inpose sanctions.

Those sanctions are still in effect.

That is why Obama's pay off is illegal.

Is the Obama Administration attempting to supplant Jimmy Carter as the most inept presidency in history???

I'm asking a serious question...surely they must have a goal in mind...

Perhaps they are so swept up in their own narrative creation that they actually believe Iran won't nuke Israel, America, France, Britain, Germany, and every high society of the west if given the tools...

Seriously, what are they trying to do by empowering a "republic" whose ruling doctrine is based upon the ethos rapt in the belief that a magic dude in the sky empowered another magic dude in the 7th century who had a 6 year old wife...???

How and why are we treating with a morally bankrupt society founded upon Stone Age sensibilities???
For real, what is the Obama Amdinistration's angle???
I'm genuinely curious...

We are giving them money and technology which the will use to kill us....this is an inarguable fact...what is going on in DC???
This is madness..

if Trump were president that money would be used to partially modernize infrastructure, build a high-speed rail, modernize airports ....provide jobs. It would never go to terrorist-supporting Iran.

Not like its any diffrent to our policy to Saudi arabia is it? And they are far worse.

If people ACTUALLY read up on Iran they would know Iran is changing. More and more moderates are gtting into office and the hard liners in Iran are losing power.

The young generation there is very pro west.

The current Iranian reguime days are numbered.

It does not need bombs, sanctions or war. It need to be open to the cultural influences of the west.

so, you all assume this is true, then all subsequent replies will be built on that assupmtion, then 3 pages later the discussion of true or not will be gone and just be composed on wild theories of anything...
