WW3 WARNING Planet closer to catastrophic World War III than at any time for SIXTY years

The article itself is self-explanatory. My question is, should we take this article as a first real warning that WWIII is upon us?

Do we really need to start stocking up on canned goods and reinforce our fallout shelters?

I wouldn't worry too much.. The Sun is the same tabloid that shared the stories about "Batboy" in the 90s... they don't have a great reputation

After living through the 80s, Able Archer and all, i don't feel we are that close.

The world does seem to be moving in a dangerous direction though. I remember the relief i felt when the Berlin Wall fell. That feeling of relief is almost completely gone now.

I just want to know if its going to be vault living from nuclear fallout, or more the pandemic/zombie apocalypse end. These are vastly different ways to deal with ww3.

I dont think we are remotely close at all to a WW3 scenario btw. There is no major challenging going on. China wont attack us, they are our competitor, not our enemy.

MAD. Mutually Assured Destruction. That is a term coined in the 80's to ensure that everyone fully comprehends the ramifications for releasing a nuclear weapon. Bunkers, canned food, spam, none of that will be of much concern. Go buy a bit of Land on Bikini Island.

I don't worry a bit about Nuclear war. I live less than 30 miles from Ft. Bragg and less than 60 from Camp Lejeune. I'll be charcoal before my retna's can refocus. So fear is just not an option. I do feel bad for those who don't have the luxury of vaporization.

Well it is The Sun online, and it's all bits of this and that of countries posturing, pretty much the sort of thing that has been going on since the end of WW2 anyway.
The Reuters link is about stockpiling really, something that most people do to some extent should ther be shortages anyway, it seems that Reuters has gone a bit spinny these days, not as trustworthy as it used to be, although the essense is true,

another global war is an absolute certainty. the german 'stockpile' warning was extraordinary. it wasn't for nothing.

I believe you're right. I'm 25 miles east of Barksdale Air Force Base where a large portion of nuclear weapons are stored, and I don't think it would reach me if one blew up. The blast radius of a one megaton nuclear bomb is up to 3 KM.

if i had $10 USD for each impeding WWIII warning, i could buy a Lamborghini Aventador with all the specs and after market exhausts.

how does one war against a ideology.

In war, you use the tools of War. Islam is a idea..so, the war then will be fought with counter ideas.
