I'm a prolific dreamer, remembering at least one dream a night. Most of my dreams, while vivid, tend to dull out over time, leaving me only able to remember them from my dream journal. A few nights ago; however, I had a dream that felt even more "real" than even the most realistic dreams I've had.

The first part of the dream was a bunch of mixed images, the kind that make no conscious sense. But, somehow, the dream turned toward me being on the precipice of death. As I was preparing to die, I remember feeling a bit scared. My son was there and I didn't want him to worry. Just as I thought that, a feeling similar to being put under anaethesia came over me, slowly blacking out my existence. I had just enough time to tell my son that death wasn't scary, it actually felt good, before I was totally ensconced in this dark.

What's very strange is that the darkness "felt" nearly orgasmic as it spread throughout my body. I looked around for a tunnel...expecting one from media sources...but was met with a bunch of rooms far off. There was a hallway and I thought to myself " this must be what people mean by tunnels " because the hallway was long and bright.

Somewhere, there was a group of people waiting outside these doors; there were several others walked no around, instructing new people to the right area. I was led into an auditorium where a movie was playing and dozens of people were seated, watching. I sat down and was told to watch. On screen, the entirety of my life was playing. I saw myself as a little girl on up to when I had told my son not to be afraid. I was embarrassed that everyone was watching my life but somehow knew that they were watching their own.

After the movie, I stood up and walked outside, determined to ask a bunch of questions. Once outside the door, I saw that I had no body, I was only light. There was a lady with a clipboard standing around and I asked her if it was true about reincarnation. She said "yes" and I asked her who I would be and when I was going back. She seemed kind of annoyed, telling me that it would be awhile since I had just finished my last life. I guess I was ok with it and walked..flew...whatever...to my next destination- a roller coaster!

The roller coaster was small, with two rows of seating, enough for four people. Somehow, despite not having a body, I sat down in the seat and it took off. There was a fenceline and the roller coaster stopped at the fenceline where a lot of "people" were floating around. It felt like a county fair with different games and food everywhere. People were laughing and walking past the booths and stopping to talk to others. I smelled kettle corn and got out of the coaster...

Then, I woke up. I can not describe the pleasant feeling of the moment of the dream death. It was like butterflies in my tummy that spread a warmth throughout my body. I realize a lot of the imagery is cliché and likely based on my access to media accounts. But the feeling, wow!

I just thought I would share and see what others thought.

Interesting dream. I've heard a lot of people say that if you die in your dream, you'll die from a heart attack at the same time in real life. I even heard someone say scientific studies were done which confirmed that; to which I replied: What studies!?

I see I'm not the only one who's died in my dreams, and woke up alive the next morning.

Good one!

You might want to research mugwort...Reddit Lucid Dreaming

Also: erowid vault mugwort

Amazon also has testimonials about its use in lucid dreaming and OBEs.

Do you watch anime at all ? More specifically the one named dragon ball Z ?

I know it sounds kind of ridiculous to ask that question but your dream is similar to how they show the afterlife (people with clipboards telling new souls where to go etc).

Just thought maybe you might have watched it and your subconscious could have mixed that memory into your dream..either ways, interesting stuff

Thank you for sharing your amazing dream
Great that you keep a dream journal ...

I have been interested in dreams from a young age ... after I had dreams come true

I have also died in dream and it was an amazing experience
A realm of living light was the environment
Being within the light and as you say without a physical body yet within the light knowing others were there
my best way to describe it was I and others were body's of light yet within the light

Thats a cool dream. I have died about three times in my dreams that I can remember. Each time it did the same thing as you. It faded to black, and i thought, "hey i can still think." Then i usually either wake up in bed, or fade into a another dream.

I have heard that when you die in your sleep it is an aspect of your own consciousness that you no longer need. For instance, One of my dreams i was on top of a sky scraper with 4 friends. All the other sky scrapers around us started falling and i knew the one we were on was going to fall also. It did, and I died.

I interpreted that dream as the dying aspect of my psyche that was afraid the world was going to end.

Thank you to everyone for sharing my dream with me. Since I can't help but dream a lot, it has been very therapeutic to write them down, even to laugh at some of the crazy imagery.

No, I don't watch anime or really know anything about it...I'm a "fortyish" mom who thinks I'm cool because I watch Netflix shows!..but that sounds interesting.

I can't remember ever dying in a dream before, perhaps that's why the fade out is so amazing to me. I, too, have heard if you die in your dreams- well, so far, so good!

Strangely, I felt amazing after a dream about death. I can't deny the nearly orgasmic sensation was entirely pleasant
But, there's a part that is complete relaxation. I know that may seem weird but it was very restful.

Again, thanks for letting me get that out.

This part is a confirmation for some people on how a human body can feel under energetic body influence. The bliss.
. I hope you have a lot of fun.

First of all, as a sovereign, you decide if you want to reincarnate. You don't let anyone have power over you and rise above any situation you find yourself by turning your understanding and compassion to you and all others in your life or that harmed you, love love love everyone and want them to be helped and go home hero's in the end, and be free. Do not let anyone boss or take you over. Your soul knows where home is, and you keep saying that inside until you're there.

Wow, what an interesting dream. It is very similar to one I had about a decade ago, I actually just shared it with another member just yesterday. I also ended up in a hallway and my life was shown right before me. I was murdered in my dream so I wouldn't say it was a pleasurable experience by any means like yours, but this dream was oh so real. I woke up thinking I was still burning for a few minutes. It is fascinating that there were so many similarities between our dreams, very strange. I would post it, but I don't want to hijack you thread.

Oh, high jack away! I would love to hear about your dream. I'm sorry your death was so traumatic but, hopefully, there was a light at the end of that "hallway"! It was a very emotional experience and it helped my soul by sharing. I'm not claiming that I know anything about the other side, the opposite, actually, but similarities in dreams might make things clearer.

When I read your post, I was so surprised by a few of the similarities in our dreams. Mine was about 10 years ago, so I will try to explain the best I can. See if anything sticks out at you or if you experienced anything similar.

I was in college, a senior in College to be exact. The dream started out at a bar that I was a waitress at during my earlier college days. The dream begins with the music going at this bar, the lighting is red (they had LED light strips all over the club, we had a heaven/hell party there once while I worked there so it reminded me of the hell part of the club). There were only a few of us in there (probably the beginning of the night or the end of the night). I was with my friends who also worked there. One of my male friends walks in (he was the owner as well) and he looks strange, like something was wrong. All of a sudden, he pulls out a gun and starts shooting all of my friends, one by one. I am the last one alive and I am up against the bar, I think to myself "He won't kill me, we are friends." He does shoot me, point blank, and I die.

I die, but I wake up in, well I don't know what it was supposed to be (much like yours). It was my university. I was in the hallway and I am telling myself that I need to run through the doors (these doors take you into a conjoining building in real life), because this guy I didn't know was chasing me. I start running and I get to the door and it is locked and I can't get in. I was locked out of this door. The only other door was back past him.

The guy catches up with me. He puts my life up in a cloud (like a thought bubble almost). I see my husband (Ex-Husband now), my dog, my children (didn't even have any then) I see my whole life flash before my eyes. My family was happy though without me and I felt saddened. So I told him that they were better off without me and to just take me. The guy started laughing, turned into a devil looking being and told me that I had given him permission to take me with him.

I was taken to what appeared to be hell. I was burning, it was so hot, I was in so much pain. Without remembering even waking up, I was awake still screaming in my bed. It's like suddenly I was just awake. My husband was there, he kept asking me what was wrong. I said they are burning me, it hurts so bad. This went on for a few minutes after I awoke.
This was so strange because the bullet hurt, the fire hurt, I could vividly feel the burning. It was also strange that usually I can remember waking up, but with this dream, suddenly I was just awake (like all I did was open my eyes and I was back at home). Even when I awoke I was still there for a few minutes until my husband finally got me to calm down and relax. I too had a door from a hallway that I had to enter. I also was able to view my entire life, I could even see the faces of my loved ones.

I still remember that dream like it was yesterday. Never have I met someone with any dream even somewhat similar to that one. So there are some vast differences but a few similarities that in a dying dream like that could be pertinent? I don't know.

That was a very interesting, but mortifying, dream. I feel a kinship with some of the imagery but I guess I lucked up a bit. The manner of my death gets lost in the earlier part of the dream. There was something about a "plug" being taken out of my neck but that's all I can remember. I hate that you were murdereded in your dream and experienced the burning. But, I know what you mean by such a real and memorable dream. I'm sure it will stay with me long after even the most real dreams I have had.

Thanks for sharing.

I loved your post! It's very true, at least based on my own near death. I was having my last son,, via emergency c section, due to him wanting to enter the world 5 weeks early. Well, he was stuck half in the birth canal, half still in Eutero, so they were telling me to take deep breaths, then as one was trying to pull him out from the bottom, the other doc was trying from the top, so my c section was going on half hour, losing more and more blood, I started fading away, it was such a wonderful non caring feeling. Actually, almost exactly as you described! VERY EUPHORIC!!! I wasn't scared at all, and then slam. Next thing I knew, they were all scrambling everywhere, needed blood transfusion, yadayada yada......I actually felt a bit angry when I came to in the hospital!!! Until I realized I just had my last, out of 4 beautiful healthy children!! I'm no longer afraid to die. That's what I took away from that experience, and of course, I'm more then happy to be here raising my last 2 boys!!

Thank you for reading my post! I am glad that you and your beautiful babies came through it ok. While mine was not a near death experience, thankfully, I am glad that some of what I felt may be true. The euphoria was amazing, I can still feel it in my body! It was like the biggest relief of tension and most relaxing feeling of peace. Hopefully, that's what we all have to look forward to!
