D2 is just as popular if not more than D3 now, and every few months they reset the ladder putting new motivation into the game. A true classic.
AoE2 is still going strong on the steam community with the release of the HD edition, along with 2 new expansions released in the last year for a game
that is 17 years old. Never has history been so fun.
Skyrim is just an experience in itself, and with the fan made mods they make a 5 year old game look better than the stuff being released today.

EU4 is great(Europa Universalis 4). A game with a friend(me as Russia from Muscovy and my friend as England) had us both rise to become regional and
world powers(2 of the 3 most powerful). My protection(accidental) of Brandenburg allowed it to become the most powerful nation in the HRE. Pretty fun.
There's more to it. Empire building bein great. Other grand strategy games, Crusader Kings 2 and Hearts of Iron(3 and 4) are good.
Oh and ARMA 2 campaign!

Tons of items to find, and you'd mix them together etc to make new items. Tons of questions and everything to ask people a whole database of info and
you could ask anybody anything about and of the stuff you already knew.
Best RTS all time (YURI'S REVENGE):
Battlefield 1942: Desert COmbat Mod (modern):
This game was AWESOME capture the flag action. You could land the jets (if skilled) at the flags jump out grab it jump back in and WHOOSH.
Exhilarating when you'd have the flag and EVERYBODY coming to GET YOU! EA took over and they took CTF out of the BF2 and ruined it (like they ruined
CNC with Generals).
Those last 2 are the last 2 games I ever got into. EA buought both my favorite franchises and promptly ruined them. Shortly after "IIB" was
born.
