a new feature was advertised ?recently? on tv
Caller ID from your satellite dish direct to your tv, so now you don't have to get up from your recliner to answer your phone or find your phone to see who is calling. If you don't have caller ID on your phone do you have to turn on your tv to see who is calling. useless crap IMFO

I actually think its a good idea. What happens if you are watching the steeler game, and someone calls....how many missed important calls does there have to be!?!?!

If I am watching something and I don't want to get up and answer the phone, then I do just that. I don't get up. They'll call back. Caller ID on a TV is sort of dumb, but I can see how it can be useful.

Yeah, I was at Fry's electronics and saw a refrigerator with a T.V. screen on it!!! A T.V. screen!!!!! So let me get this straight. Joe lazy is sitting on his sofa watching tv and getting fat. He decided to get up, and gorge himself with some junk food. He can't even make it from his couch, to his refrigerator without a T.V!!! On heart-attack trap to another!

talk about useless technology, I saw a television comercial the other day that advertised an air freshioner that didn't simply mask the fact that Rover needed a bath. This air freshioner "told a story" in scents! wtf? I'm sorry that I didn't get the name of the product, but on the other hand, it is probably just as well that I didn't. But, definitely, this product will be cluttering our landfills shortly.

TV in a fridge... how many of you would take your recliner and sit in the kitchen watching a little 13.1" screen all day? Or how long would you stand up watching it while you grab the catsup? What a waste of our resources! I agree with benevolent tyrant on the landfill matter, this is going too far.

True story: a vacuum cleaner salesman came today with a Kirby. We already had one, and he said they would last about 30 years or more. Yet we had ours 11 years now and he kept pushing and pushing for the sale. If it works perfectly, then why do we need to replace it with a newer, shinier model? Greed. All they want is money. They don't care how much waste they produce from perfectly good vacuum cleaners every day, all they want is money. Bastards. I make minimum wage and I'm perfectly happy. The more you have, the more you want, is what my dad always says.

(I might start a thread about this....)

It's just another product for wives to tug on their husbands sleeve over. If you've ever walked into a house that has an itty bitty TV sitting on the kitchen counter somewhere you know the type. Watch cooking shows or recordings, the morning news, whatever. Many convenient uses for people with the desire and ability to waste money.
