OK gonna give this a shot....

Then please give an example of an idea from a non-human perspective. No matter what example you give, it will still be a human's take on what something else may think or feel.

Step by step, it's been assumed they are here for our resources like water, minerals ect....
Would say are we missing any? It's hard to tell with water, but we aren't seeing evidence of mining.

It's also been assumed they are here to collect bio-samples.
We've only seen evidence of this in Humans and cows, very seldom do other animals pop up in news reports of having been carved up in the same manner.

Most encounters happen at night to people, so there is the stealth factor.

They haven't landed and made a public service announcement to us as a whole.

You went with as humans we can't know what they think or feel, I say we can look at this from their side and from behaviors noted come up with "something" closer to the reality than I've seen discussed over the years. "IF" you were them what would it take for these behaviors to make sense?

The assumptions I've seen over the years that "they are trying to lead us out of our backwardness", "We're too violent ",
"We're their little science experiment", "They are infertile and need our DNA", "They use (Used) us to mine minerals for them", ect.....

What we HAVE had reported (If you don't toss it out) is that they to our way of thinking are quite dispassionate, except for a few cases when one will take a liking to a particular human.

They haven't mastered the concept of anesthesia yet. Or just don't choose to use it.

Face to Face's happen rarely and they extract themselves PDQ. Unless we AREN'T 100% cognizant.

SO....given all this "IF" you were them what would it tell you?

No one yet has reported that they feel much of anything, so that's up in the air, yet to be determined.
Were they just passing thru this part of space and decide we're interesting? Or are they here for a reason?

More interesting...are they even what we "think" they are or another type of homegrown entity spoofing us?

I may have rambled off into left field, but "IF" I were them I'd say "we're here for our own purposes".
Only time and screw-ups on their part may revel what it is by default since they seem insistent on not dealing with us directly.

Yeah....you're gonna rip holes in this, but I'm OK with that.

Nah, I'm not going to rip wholes in anything. I just realized we were thinking from completely different perspectives, which means we could both be right or wrong.

I was pretty much ignoring the extra terrestrials that people usually talk about, like the humanoid greys that use metallic machines, abduct people & cows, create crop circles, etc. I have my doubts that the "advanced" creatures on other worlds will appear so similar to primates and have basically the same limitations that we do. Plus, I think those angles on the topic have been talked about so much that I don't have anything new to bring to them without solid data.

So instead, I decided to think about the possibilities of lifeforms that transcend our limits. For example, the average human can hear from roughly 20Hz to 20,000Hz. But many animals and insects can communicate outside of this range, sometimes dramatically higher or lower (like in the 100,000+ Hz range). And there are many animals that can detect magnetic fields, some that can detect infra red radiation (heat), and others that can see UV light. And mantis shrimp can detect something like 9 levels of colors that are literally incomprehensible to human eyes.

Looking at it like this made me realize that even known lifeforms can have drastically different qualities than our own. And those creatures evolved in the same basic conditions as us. So I imagine that the vast majority of ETs would be nothing like us, or at least would have qualities that differ greatly from our own.

That's why I try not to focus on humanoid creatures that use metal machines like us, speak in the same audio range as us, or see the same forms of light we do. Looking at it like this, I realized that ETs could be trying to communicate with us right now & we literally wouldn't realize it. It could be like if we pointed wifi signals at a bunch of possums that clearly have no way to notice, receive, decrypt, or interpret what's in the broadcasts. They could be showering us daily with their version of holograms and welcome songs. But if they were in ranges that our eyes and ears (and instruments) can't perceive, we wouldn't know they existed.

Of course, my views are just one branch of thinking on this subject. I'd love to join some group that brainstorms the different possibilities for ETs. I just think we limit ourselves too much when thinking about them.

I know that Whitley Strieber or some alien abductees says they call human beings “containers.” Probably a nice phrase for garbage cans.

We're the garbage of the universe and we contain trash in our insides that produces the evil we do to each other

The comment about entities spoofing us wasn't tossed in my reply lightly. It's horrendously easy to mess with our perceptions as humans and I don't discount for one miniute that the UFO's and aliens seen actually aren't.

You made some very valid points about other creatures (birds etc...) experiencing time differently than we as humans do.

For some reason, I believe there may have been an outside influence driving the "space race". That is, maybe humans suddenly felt the need to become a space-faring species....in order to qualify as such by ET.

It makes as much sense as lots of things I read on ATS!

We have to stay isolated. If we aren't isolated, they will slow down our evolution. And I think the Aliens want to watch this unique show... A cosmic Galapagos Island chain, swimming lizards and all. The World, like Australia, just may be a petri dish of unique organisms. We could be the Platypuses of the Universe.

The Fermi paradox is ridiculous to begin with.

The entire premise is flawed and based on completely ignoring the mountains of circumstantial evidence of ET contact.

It's a perfect example of doublethink and the nakedness of the emperor.

I have a feeling that what we think of as "space", "time", "galaxies", "the universe" etc. are notions specific to our modern human symbolic constellation. I believe that our own Earth is not entirely consistent in itself (ie. no "single" Earth, but a potpourri of conflicting perspectives relating to and partially actualising the relatively modern notion of "Earth"), that's to say nothing about the inconsistency of everything else outside "Earth" - if there is a true outside. What we might see as beyond us, ie. cosmic order and chaos, is a reflection of what we must necessarily assume for our symbolic constellation to operate (without everyone going nuts).

There may not be a real "space" or "time" to point to, so postulating that aliens could be out there in the dark of the cosmos on planets like our own, orbiting stars like our Sun, it's already incredibly centered around our human symbolic constellation as it exists in contemporary times and what we must presuppose for our current physical existence to make logical sense.

Everytime I hear about alien abductions or UFO sightings what I am struck by is how they appear to us and in what form their "visits" take. They're observers, they're tinkerers, they're too similar to us. Such that I think they might well be us, on some level, possibly intervening or observing an experiment of our own creating from a vantage point that could be centuries down the line (or concurrent, or in the past).

The cosmos we are detecting with our astronomical instruments and models could well be a projection of what we expect to be the case given our physical material context. By the time we can truly go "out there" we may well have to discard notions of space, time, planets, galaxies etc.

You are assuming that you are aware of their technological advancements. Which you are not. What they use or could be using could appear to be magic to us. They could be blocking us or snuffing our signatures of life via dimensional blockades or technology on the rifts of adjacent dimensions thus hid from us, but still doing their job of hiding us.

Again. You can speculate, but you can't say with certainty that you know its not possible.
