I am going to be attending the BIG Trump rally tomorrow in Phoenix. Word on the street is that he is going to be discussing his "softening" immigration policy. This subject is important to me personally because my girlfriend is Mexican, and has family on both sides of the border. I also get to see first hand how it affects the economy and crime rates.

Immigration Speech

I am looking forward to the experience. I am also looking forward to filming the entire thing. I plan to conduct as many interviews with average everyday people at the event, both protesters, and supporters. My brother and I are going to have multiple cameras on us at the event.

I will be posting my footage here first. I wanted to give you all the opportunity to feed me some questions to ask during the interviews. If you have anything you think I should discuss with people, please respond here. Let me know who you would like me to ask, either a supporter, or protester.

So what questions do you have that you would like to ask people around and inside the Trump rally tomorrow if you had the opportunity?

Here's a question you'll probably get to ask, " Hey man, why did you punch me in the face?"

Or more fittingly "Oye , ¿por qué me puñetazo en la cara ?"

Ask him how we're supposed to flee to Mexico when he destroys our economy if there's a wall in the way.

That is a good question to ask. If the OP has a chance to ask one.

Nah, this is an open carry state. That stuff only happens in disarmed sections of this country.

I thought everyone was going to Canada? Both of those countries have more strict immigration policy than we do, which is pretty ironic.

Canada is a long haul for those of us in AZ.

And far too cold for my desert rat blood. I'll take my chances with mi hermanos al sur.

Yes. She is also a an Army veteran, and so are two of her brothers, so I guess they are more legal than I am.

So what did you think about what he had to say? Do you think immigrants who are here illegally should get amnesty if they pay back taxes?

No don't!
Their opinion is still valid...
As flawed as it may be.
If they are shuffled of to their respective safe space they will never learn how the world really works.

Ask him how we're supposed to flee to Mexico when he destroys our economy if there's a wall in the way.

Compare quality of life in America to Mexico.
Do you realize how bad it would have to get for people to even consider moving to Mexico?
People typically don't seek out a lower quality of life. But that's what all you are suggesting by this. By all means go ahead no one is stopping except for the Mexican government because they actually enforce immigration laws there.

I don't have all the answers. I do think we need to control immigration into this country though. We allow criminals to stay in this country, while American citizens caught with a little bit of ganja are doing years in prison. The violence and drugs in our border towns is a serious problem. We could put a stop to the immigration problem if there were actual consequences for crossing over illegally. People that cross know that if they get caught, they can just walk right back over the next day. I think we need requirements for entry. We have plenty of unskilled workers at this point, and it is about time we scrutinize the people crossing. Every other country is allowed to control who enters their countries, yet if we do it we are considered racist. It makes no sense.

The issue with the back taxes is there is no way to quantify it, and the vast majority of people will not have the money. Most of the people that cross for seasonal jobs send the majority of the money back to Mexico, and usually have no loyalty to our country and way off life. Heck, most people have no loyalty period. We already see people burning flags and waving Mexican flags. I showed my gf and her mother a couple of videos of the Trump protests where people were waving flags, and they both said those people were idiots.

If it were up to me, this is what I would do:
1. Build the wall.
2. Give temporary amnesty to anyone currently in the country.
3. Create a cross reference system with Mexico and SA that would allow us to check the backgrounds of the people currently here.
4. Halt ALL immigration for 1 year, or until everything was straightened out.
5. Give temporary tax ID's to everyone granted amnesty. All funds would go toward immigration reform and enforcement.
6. Deport anyone with criminal records, arrested for criminal activity, or that fails to obtain the immigrant tax ID.
7. Fine any company employing anyone illegally ridiculous amounts of money per infraction.
8. Legalize all drugs. Redirect 1/3 of all drug enforcement funds into addiction treatment facilities.
9. Host mandatory English speaking classes at community colleges across the country. Paid for by immigrants.
10. Create a new comprehensive immigration test. Must speak enough English to get by, understand the basics of our country and culture. Must pass background check
11. End all foreign entanglements. Divert a portion of the defense budget into foreign aide to help support the civilians we have displaced.

At the end of the year period, everyone that has fulfilled their requirements would then be offered permanent citizenship. Everyone that does not achieve this, will then be deported once apprehended. I am sure many of them would leave voluntarily, as it would be impossible for them to get work at that point. This is overly authoritarian for my tastes, but this is taking into account that we are still operating within this busted system of corrupt government.
