Talk of Russia mobilizing 300,000 troops today. No proof, but talk of it. I remember when there was talk of Russia building a airbase in Syria. No proof then, just talk. I might buy 50kg of rice me thinks.

I don't know, but I think Turkey just sided with Russia.

I can't agree yet. For the past 3 years, Turkey has been one of the regional allies of the nefarious US, West, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey cabal, which is continuing the regime changes and proxy wars in the ME in the form of the Syrian "civil war." They have aided and abetted the cause, including helping the west train and arm "rebels." Know this first before you assess this situation.

Turkey has common cause in Syria in dealing with the Syrian Kurds. Both Turkey and Assad want them brought down because they along with the rest of SDF are a powerful force. Turkey and Russia also both need those trade ties. That however is about as far as it goes. Turkey will remain in NATO, Turkey will support other rebels against Assad and in Iraq where Russia supports the Shia dominate government the Turks support the Iraqi Kurds, Yazidis and Sunnis who will likely be clashing after that last ISIS strong hold of Mosul falls.

And this is the problem. with ISIS on its death bed the common enemy is almost gone and everybody is getting ready for the next round.

Oh I know they have been key in the whole mess.

Well today Russia and Iran both are now calling on Turkey to halt military operations. Now is when it gets interesting. Me thinks Turkey wont stop until it gets to Aleppo.

US is the one who secretly allowed Turkey to do this in return for them to stay in NATO.

Yes, turkey has been on the opposite side of this from the op's view. That can change, but that historical fact remains.

Turkey can do what it wants outside of NATO territory. NATO can not tell a member what to do or punish for doing things outside of NATO's area of responsibility because it would infringe upon a nations sovereignty. Also NATO has no no mechanism to remove a member. If they did they might have done it when Turkey invaded Cyprus but, they do not have one.

I think you are misunderstanding what wrote. I wasnt insinuating Turkey would be kicked out of NATO but rather they would leave NATO and cozy up to Russia. Of course NATO cannot keep a member from leaving. But they can give them carrots for staying......Erdogen basically told Kerry they would remain in the US fold but this is what they were going to do...

Turkey would never leave NATO. It gains far to much that it could never get from Russia. It would not even bring it up because it is afraid the US and others would say go ahead. Turkey would just the US this is what we are going to do, the US says we do not like that and Turkey would say sorry but, it is happening, And that would be that. Turkey does not have offer anything because it does not need US permission.

One thing seems clear. Escalation is imminent. Read some news about Germany drafting doctors. Obama will visit Turkey in 4 days. Who ever can sway Turkey to their side will have big advantage. Oh yeah, and the economy is #ed because world economy based on us dollar which has lost all value because of quanative easing mass printing of paper bull# dollars. Jobs are drying up all over the world and Banks are preparing for a collapse. Could the ingredients for ww3 ever be more?

Turkey i don't think will side with Russia, unless as someone mentioned they already feel the US is targeting them, such as with the coup. Otherwise, it really would be foolish. The US will still win, whether quickly or slowly, in a show down with Russia. Turkey probably knows that. One reason amongst many that they are part of Nato, and they joined the "winning side" by supporting the proxy war in Syria.
