"Wilder's nephew said Monday that the actor died this month in Stamford, Conn. from complications from Alzheimer's disease. In 1999, Wilder was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma and treated with radiation and stem cell transplants."

Mr. Wilder was a comedic genius and a very charismatic actor. He had so much influence in my childhood. I'll miss him, but I hope he rests in peace.

Best Wonka ever! Scared the h3ll out of me when the ship sped up and "All the fires of Hell a-glowing" was being said. Still freaks me out a little as an adult... so thanks for that Mr. Wilder!

Today is the 29th.
News says he died today. Age 83.
I had no idea he was that much older than me. I was thinking ten years but he was 23 years older than me. My dad passed a couple of weeks ago and he was 89. Gene was almost as old as my dad.

Oh really? Tell me more.

That Wonka meme makes me chuckle every time I see it.

Willy Wonka was one of my favorite movies as a kid.

It was actually mind-altering.
