Remember When, It Was Then

The first day we met, you were wearing a pretty bow in your long brown hair,
I fell in love with you at the very first stare, you didn't know it at the time,
You stole my heart and soul that moment, even if I never saw you,
You had the voice of an angel when I heard you speak;

Humbled, I stumbled at trying to say, how are you doing today,
Hesitating, unsure for the moment, giving me a chance, was not your inclination,
I asked for your number with the promise to call soon,
Instead, you insisted on mine, which I gave, along with the Moon;

For I had already decided, I would stop at nothing, you were mine and you did not know it,
Contemplating while serenading, I dreamed of whisking you away, to an island of your choosing,
Where we would stay, together alone, no distractions around, trying to keep our feet on the ground,
Even though it was all a dream, it was as real for me as the nose on my face, this was the place I wanted to be;

Just you and me and the Sun shining through the coconut tree, as we lay in the sand, hand in hand,
Not a care in the world and no worry to be found, just the sound of our heart beats thumping,
Inspired by your beauty and mesmerized by our sweetness, I made it a reality and asked you to marry,
I am so grateful I found you at the time that I did, you gave me hope and a reason to live.
