Gary Johnson (L) is the only candidate in the race who said he would sign the TPP because it will "advance free trade."[
ballotpedia.org...

It's a deal breaker. Allowing more dumping of foreign goods into the US is in direct opposition to refueling our economy. It will cost me and many like me our jobs and any further gainful employment.

I don't know what you mean by most people never heard about Johnson. I actually voted for him in 2012, because I din't like Romney, and was pissed at the GOP, for nominating a Morman Vulture Capitalist. I'm voting Trump this year. Had the GOP nominated Bush, I'd be voting for him again. I've got more than a few libertarian leanings, but immigration, trade, and radical Islam being much more important than ideological purity to me this cycle. The Koch's ( the Soros like boogeymen to the left on the Right) have always had a strong Libertarian streak. I could honestly get behind a Libertarian point of view on immigration on one and only one condition- zero social safety net. That means no welfare, medicaid, unemployment, and maybe even no social security or medicare. Otherwise no dice. That's not by any means unprecedented either it's exactly how it was during previous waves of mass immigration before SS in the 30's and the others later on. Also, that ain't gonna happen anytime soon so Libertarians are not a viable option this cycle at all with Hillary on the Dem ticket. It's too damn dangerous for a protest vote like last time for me.

Many Libertarian principles are great, but you cannot have a nation that respects them if you allow unlimited immigration from nations and cultures that have no concept of the ideas. The GOP had a chance to embrace some Libertarian principles last cycle, and they chose to piss on Ron Paul instead. It's really damn funny seeing the folks that did that run to the Libertarians when someone they don't want wins a primary following rules they made to keep another Ron Paul from happening.

That being said, I hope the Libertarian party does well kinda. Their organization is a cluster and their national and state leadership is laughable, but I would much rather see a future with socialist Democrats, Nationalist GoP, and a strong Libertarian party that actually has some members of Congress. Oh wait, they don't really try to get into Congress and focus only on the highest office in the land. That was facetious I know, but three viable parties is better than two. I'd love to see a country where either the GOP or Democrats have to ally with principled libertarians to get anything through Congress. I may vote Libertarian on some down ticket races myself i'f they've bothered to qualify a candidate this year.

No thanks on Johnson. I voted for Perot, Nader and that went nowhere and I'm 100% against anymore trade deals until the ones we have now get fixed. The deals we have now are like a busted fish tank.

My biggest fear though is someone who abused their power getting more power. They will abuse it even more, far more than what anyone could imagine. Even if there was a 3rd party that looked a little stronger this is not the election to mess around. At least with Trump both parties can beat him over the head and he doesn't really know the system or even care about getting the money to live lush after being President . This is a great thing because we may be able to get things done where both sides get something. That is not going to happen with her. There will be more lawlessness in her cabinet the likes Americans have never seen.

The only reason these third-party candidates are even getting the time of day is because of Trump. He is truly starting a political revolution in America.

Very true and the fact He's not the most comfortable choice in many peoples minds, coupled with Trump running against an open psychopath..

I'm leaning towards Gary Johnson, but of course he has things I don't agree with as well.

But yea this election is changing the game. As much as I may worry about who gets picked, my HOPE meter is going off the charts for the future. I'm watching established entrenched bad choices becoming less viable. I'm seeing people more alive and more involved in the process than ever before (in my age group).

This could easily lead to the debates in the future not being run by private organizations calling themselves "The Democrats, and The Republicans"

Maybe in a few elections from this point out we will have a 5 party debate as the rule..

I love the possibilities and the dissatisfaction by mainstream people in this current election and into the future.

There are technically five parties on the ballot in multiple states and 3 that are in all 50.

Democrat
Republican
Libertarian
Green
Constitutionalist

Johnson never really came out and said "I will, with 100%, certainty sign the TPP into law". He said he would be for it if is pro free trade. I bet the moment the TPP is slapped on his desk it would be a veto considering the true contents.

As far as open borders? What do you think we have now? Our borders are so porous that it's as if we dont have one. Do people really think a wall is going to fix that? A lot of illegals come by boat or plane. A wall isnt going to stop it. I think I saw a recent article about how more immigrants are going back to mexico than coming to America.

Go Johnson. Im so sick of the Donald Trump support here he's a phony and in bed with Clinton.

You *do* realize that Gary ran four years ago for the Presidency, right? Back when Trump was ripping off senior citizens with Trump University and declaring bankruptcy and suing as many people as possible...

Johnson is a successful self-made millionaire, highly respected and liked two term governor and a triathlete. Weld also, two term successful well liked governor; both men have real life to back up their political positions.

Trump has experience not paying his bills and hiring as many lawyers as possible to sue and intimidate people. He's not starting a revolution, he's wh@cking off in his supporter's faces.

So Johnson is a stoner jock, big deal and he was a loser back then too.

I knew a dozen of them like him in high school. He's done better in life than they have, I guess. lol!

Talk about wasting tax payer money!

And YES, Trump HAS opened the door to 3rd parties but they really have to get under one of 2 party's brolly.

I mean, have you ever looked at the world? Have you ever actually looked at something with a wall around it, then compared it to something without a wall around it?

Anything with a wall is harder to get into. You're arguing Israel would be just as safe if they tore down their wall? How foolish.
