You just went on about Hillary supporters attacking Trump supporters, them being childish, and that they need to look in the mirror based on these nasty attacks. I referred to it as name calling which you did. Only it was exacerbated by being directed at someone who doesn't get a fair shot at life. I just don't do stuff like that. Not my style.

You made your point perfectly clear by being intentionally obtuse. I don't think we can move forward from here.

I don't think all Trump supporters need to apologize and I don't see the purpose in doing so, but needless to say all those that defends Trump's "wild" statements seem to have egg on their face.

But that was Trump's doing.

I prefer to treat physically handicapped people as human beings as intellectually capable as any other and able to achieve things in life. Like any other human being, a handicapped person can be an idiot in the eyes of another human being. There is no need for sympathy and pandering. I am sure it would not really be appreciated.

Are you suggesting no one is guilty of hateful speech and actions towards Donald Trump over the last year?
Extremely interested in your answer.

I'm sure there are but not everyone you are waiting to show up and own up to what you took to be hate.

I see you missed out the anti-Trump contingent in your post.
Interesting. Do you think some people have been hateful towards Trump in the last year? It's quite an uncomfortable quetsion, I know, and probably difficult to answer.
I do agree that there is no need for apologies though - same with Trump in fact. As i said earlier in the thread it's likely to be a double edged sword.

Your comment about 'egg on faces' is slightly random and I don't really understand it.

Really? People defended what he said and now he is saying that it was wrong, which means that anyone who defended him was wrong so, if you did "you have egg on your face".

I don't believe they need to apologize for anything either.

Yes, they have. That's easy to answer.

It's a saying that means the person with egg on their face has been made a fool or has been played as a fool.

I am not waiting for anyone to show up. Nor do i think they should apologise. That would be up to an individual based on whether they believe what they have said or done warranted it.

Like you I am sure, actually I know, there are those that have spent a full year spewing hatred towards Trump and his supporters. I am talking not about ATS per se, but across the country and beyond.

Glad it was an easy answer. i think so too but was not sure you would.
There are indeed many through this campaign cycle with egg on their faces.

Indeed. There is a lot of hate coming from that direction.
I think Trump, with is latest speech, has realised he needs to steer a different path and reject hatred. I hope that his detractors will follow his lead and example.

Pretty hard if they don't swallow his act hook, line and sinker. Also in your own words:

they can't take back what they have said.

And neither can Trump.

Sorry, but I don't think he's realized any such thing.
He's just pissed off his handlers too many times and they're trying to rein him back in.

He'll go right back to shamelessly embracing hatred and any other emotion or tactic that he thinks might get someone in his camp. Spewing the teleprompted party line just won't do it for the Donald.

It'll be funny to watch how many people try to act like he's truly a reformed, penitent, virtuous, born-again Greedy Old Parasite. He may even get some more fundamentals and evangelicals singing in his choir.

I can see it now: the spirit of Jerry Fallwell is standing tall with the Cheeto Messiah, reassuringly petting that small, restless animal on top of his orange melon. Too funny...

You don't need to swallow anything hook line and sinker to follow Trump's example and reject hatred.
You can never undo the past, you can only atone for it.

Yeah - it was discussed earlier on. He has to follow his own example now that he decided to show regret. It's a big test and the world will be watching his every move. He'll have to ignore childish and hateful people who continue to insult and accept that they know no better. Hopefully he can educate them over time.

You do if your hate is in reaction to his words and you are not convinced that he has had a change of heart. In that case the fight is still on.

Nice attempt at a dodge. See above.

I just rewatched that video. When Trump does it all the people in the background start laughing. Sad.

Ah, a justification for hatred as a reaction or retaliation. I think Trump used to use that line too. Very similar journeys it seems, so it's possible the people you speak of are on the same path, just a bit further back.
It's possible to fight without hatred and Trump seems to be showing the way.. in fact it's often better to do so as we can see from his actions in Louisiana today.

Or it's all just an act and they are at the same spot.

What's with the glorification? He's a politician running for office.

That's a test a 3rd grader could pass. We're talking about someone who needs to be far beyond this nonsense. It's one of the most important positions in the world. We need someone a little better than a guy who should have his mouth washed out with soap. As mentioned above, there's little kids out there who have more dignity and respect for their fellow hominids.

Trump isn't the guy. Sorry. He's not going to win anyways so the discussion is pointless. It'll be the beast. I'm already thinking about who will come after her. Paul Ryan has some respect left assuming the system is still intact.
