- Iraq
- Social Security
- Homeland Security
- Asian Pacific realm, to include N Korea, Taiwan, China
- Middle East Overall to include Syria, Iran
- Will there be another war?
- Where will our nation possibly be or standing within the next 4 yrs?

Please put anything here that you think will be an issue, solved or unsolved, even if its not mentioned above, I only listed hot topics recently, but I am sure there are other issues that havent been discussed.

Please feel free to add anything to this. All inputs are welcomed, as long as it is not bashing each other, none of that please. Do that U2U if you want to bash one personally, but not on an open thread.

Total world domination of course

Seriously.

I'll touch on a couple of those :

Iraq - unfortunately another year full of fighting and loss of life, I don't know if it will be done in a year or even 4.

Homeland Security - we're fine, we're going to be fine... no major problems.

Please also, do tell what you would like to see happen in the next 4 yrs. Most of us, of course want to see the troops come home, but open the topic more by stating other things that you would like to see done or started.

i'd like to see Bush do something that doesn't annoy me...maybe he should pay more attention to what goes on in the country he's running as opposed to the country that has what he wants. No more of this God business either....what happened to separation of church and state? That whole inauguration was just "god blah blah blah - song with the word bless in the title - god blah blah blah blah - let us pray that this moron doesn't screw everything up - blah blah blah"

pretty good impersonation right?

It seems that God himself was at the inauguration today. It looked like a religious revival if you ask me. How can you mention God every 2 seconds in a government who advicates war? I wonder.

Bush will continue being himself over the next 4 years, will continue his wars worldwide, and the United States will be invaded and it will be because it was brought on by this governemnts actions

I like the 401k plan idea, awesome... it's your money you take care of it.
small business owner's will get mad props and the ambulance chaser's will get a shoe up their ass...

People shouldn't be pissed off about that, next time you run across a lawer you should also put your best foot forward...

And as a reminder, the loss of life is terrible and bless their hearts, but they signed up for the job, to DEFEND THEIR COUNTRY, that includes the people.

I am thankful they are fighting over there to keep us safe here at home.

Next four years may even come close to libertarianism... I think bush may be a closet libertarian, or at least i'm hoping.

Not liking the spending patterns nor the military spending but what I think he's doing is setting the stage for our future generations so they can have a future and so that we don't have to worry about these crazies later on down the road. Let's hope so.

yup he is!

For our future generations

- Iraq
I see the U.S. finally getting a hold on Iraq and actually turning out a confident and well trained Iraqi military force, all while withdrawing unneeded personnel and in the end (maybe stating this year) withdrawing a large percentage of U.S. ground forces from the country.

-Social Security
I don’t really have any ideas on this yet.

- Homeland Security
Like said before, we are safe. Possibly a little too safe; if this amount of security cannot be sustained for the years to come for whatever reason then when need be people may be too lax and caught off guard.

- Middle East Overall to include Syria, Iran
It’s too early to tell… We may conduct a few small operations there, though; most likely it will be political operations rather then militaristic operations. I can see the U.S. and them working together and laying out a plan for the better. There may even be a plan to let them keep these weapons and programs with the promise of not selling the technology to rouge nations (or anyone for that matter) and with U.S.-EU monitoring.

- Will there be another war?
Too early to tell. These things just sort of pop up. There will certainly be small military operations going on like always but if something pops off with china-north korea then there has a potential to be a large problem on the global scale.

- Where will our nation possibly be or standing within the next 4 yrs
One can only hope. We didn’t count on the economy flattening out during the 90’s economic boom and we (or most of us) didn’t expect the terrorist attack. I hope we can emerge extremely prosperous and maintain ourselves as a global benchmark.

- Asian Pacific realm, to include N Korea, Taiwan, China
It’s all up to North Korea and China on this one. I doubt North Korea will be up to anything more then bluffing and empty threats.

China is a little more aggressive on its ‘mission’ to ‘reunite’ with Taiwan. If they decide to do anything it would probably be just before or just after the 2008 Olympics. Either way the U.S. and Taiwan are prepared to fend off an invasion from sea and air.

With the economy finally starting to pick up and more manufacturing jobs coming back to the U.S. I think our strong, beefy, and solid economy will only grow. The times in Iraq aren’t going to get any tougher and by years end there is a good possibility that many thousands of troops will be coming back home.
It would also be extremely wise of the entire country to invest in alternative energy. I don’t care if the economy is driven on oil or not. What happens when someone else wants that oil more and is willing to risk allot more then you to get to it? What happens when that oil is non-existent in the first place?
In the end, I think it would be wise to maintain our presence in the Middle East and beef up some firepower in Asia. It would also be extremely wise to encourage Japan and other Asian allies to become more self dependant and encourage them to take somewhat of an aggressive stance. And last, I think we ot-to keep a big eye on china.

Iraq- the US will have to reinstate the draft, Iraq will divide into 3 'states' and the US will maintain a strong presence in the middle 'state'

Social Security- that should take all 4 years to resolve!

Homeland Security- the Gestapo-SS model will prevail, but with 'compassion'

Asia-Oceania-East-the US will join with China on the Moon-on-to-Mars Project. US will exercise 'Empire' peace & democracy building on those Muslim Nations ie. Indonesia, Malasyia etc

Middle East- Google up Muscat join in the middle-east stock markets

war ? no, one just blends into the other, its not war per se...they are 'actions'

??- the dividend tax rate lowered to 10%, tort capped at 1/4mil. there will be a lot of financial tweekings, built so everybody believes they're getting a piece of the pie. More refugee camps, displaced persons camps as both Hindi & Muslims seek sanctuary in USA...together with the hugh northern migration from central America. GWB fancies hisself a 21st century Charlemagne...

oops, this is taking the form of a forcasting theme

Iraq...We will be out Iraq by the end of the year, with the exception of troops whose main purpose will be training the new Iraqi Security Forces and Army.

Social Security...It may take all 4 years, but we will finally have some control of our own money. It may only be 2-4% but it will be a start. Social Security was a terrible idea in the beginning and it remains so.

Homeland Security...As long as the US has strong Republican leadership we will be just fine.

Asian Pacific realm, to include N Korea, Taiwan, China....Same as Above

Middle Ease Overall to include Syria, Iran....Same as Above

Will there be another war.....Same as Above

Where will our nation possibly be or standing within the next 4 years? 4 years from today we will be inaugurating another Republican President.

We still be in Iraq and the Insurgency will be fulled by the word of attacks in Iran and Syria.

Our social security will be sold to the private owners and the American people will get the short hand of the deal while they will be making money of your money and holding accounts in the caiman Islands.

Homeland Security will be another waste of money and budget. Because the “Terror” was bush made.

The Asia, area will still have nuclear power and will improve the one they have.

Bush may be force by his own to reconsider going into another war and his own Generals may mutiny due to the low moral of our troops.

Bush may decide that god is behind him and wag another war in Iran, making US economy collapse.

In the next four years our nation will not be better than the last and probably worst.

I predict that when this thread is brought up 4 years from now, marg will deny any knowledge of her post and blame it on "gremlins".

- Iraq:
Most of our troops will be home in four years, though we'll probably always have a presence (ala Germany).

- Social Security:
Don't know. I'm not sure the problems facing SS will be resolved but I do think progress will be made.

- Homeland Security:
I don't think they'll be any terror attacks on the mainland. If there is it'll be either huge and state sponsered or small enough to slip through the cracks.

- Asian Pacific realm, to include N Korea, Taiwan, China:
Same old stuff. Talk talk talk. No one has the balls to do anything....and that's a very GOOD thing.

- Middle East Overall to include Syria, Iran:
Attacks (not invasion or large scale attacks) by the US (and/or Isreal) are very possible within the next four years. I don't think they'll amount to or cause another major war however.

- Will there be another war?:
There will always be wars. Will the US be involved in another war in the next four years? Don't know. Anything could happen, however I think the next major war the US is a participant of will be because we have answered the call of help from an ally. Or if there's state sponsered terrorism and we know the state....you could say good bye to that country.

- Where will our nation possibly be or standing within the next 4 yrs?:
Like always technology will continue to progress. Abroad, things could only get better. I think the economy will remain status quo (and I don't see any major bounce back for the dollar). Advances will be made in medicine. I don't think we'll see that much major changes over the next 4.

The "Terrorists" are a fairy tale. Bush is manipulating us, to make his oil-company buddies rich. Our soldiers are being used as Exxon employees.

The "beheadings" are pure propoganda. Just like when newspapers in this country reported German soldiers were bayonetting infants during WWII.

The WMD's were a fairy tale too. Halliburton is making a FORTUNE off this war. All of Bush's cabinet, are former, or current oil company execs. Look it up. 70% of German citizens believe that our own government was behind 9/11. We are a laughing stock.

I as European am afraid when I read the things he said.
Am afraid he is going into Iran and other countries which will lead to far worse situation then there allready is.
Spreading freedom to the darkest corners and more rethoric BS... it comes down on 1 thing with him and thats war.
Some countries don´t want his freedom, so he doesn´t have the right to force them into what he calls freedom but is actually a country under his control with a puppet in place.

I wish he spends a bit time in getting smarter and getting better people around him instead of those hating warmongers.
Then I´d like to see he spends more time and money into your own county´s social system. Lots are falling through the mazes of the net.
And this while he spends so much money on war :/

You should be reminded that it was NEVER the federal government's money to begin with. It was the American people's own money, so how will they end up being shorthanded when they will be able to invest THEIR OWN MONEY into their OWN 401k plan.. Why do so many liberals think their fellow american's are inept??

ps: don't you think your being over dramatic with the cayman islands accusation.

Homeland Security will be another waste of money and budget. Because the “Terror” was bush made.

I dare you to walk over to the middle east and say that, i'm sure the beheadering aholes will glady welcome you with open arms and tuck their knives away.

In the next four years our nation will not be better than the last and probably worst.

And if Kerry would of gotten in, i'm sure he would of given everybody everything at no expense to the taxpayer's, and may I remind you that your fellow disenfranchised have problems paying taxes already, and have a hard time living off their 24,000/yr income... Oh no, wait i'm sorry he wouldn't touch their money, just the hard working people in this country who have built upon their success... The ones who are already carrying half the economy on their shoulders... I guess stealing doesn't mean anything to you either because your a liberal who "cares" about the people who already feel robbed of whatever their problem may be. See the hypocrisy.
